Animalia's exploration of the lesser known artists of Melbourne continues with the launch of new sublabel, Cirrus, focusing on non-club, downtempo, ambient and otherworldly sounds from local Australian artists. 

The first release comprises of dreamy, non-linear modular improvised soundscapes from Melbourne/Naarm local The Soulscaper, a sideproject of Eugene Pascal, member of Animalia's electronic trio Menage. 

The Inside Voices LP offers a sentimental, familiar musical journey, evocative of the distinctive charms of life in Australia's south-eastern hub. All produced in the northern suburbs of Melbourne/ Naarm, the tracks provide an open window into the studios of the city's deeper side. The LP is a poignant follow on from the musical outputs of Animalia, staying true to the label's deep, cinematic and melodic style.

Cousin - Second Message (Clips)

Our ninth release is a special one that’s close to our hearts — announcing the ‘So AM’ EP by Gallery B. Currently living and working on Larrakia land (Darwin), Emma Stevenson (aka Gallery B / @gallerybmaking) is a producer and DJ with a deep appreciation of music. As one of the founding members of TSBU, Emma has played a significant part in the label’s inception, and fortuitously returns to the label full-circle to release the ‘So AM’ EP.

Taking cues from 90s production and the tranquil surrounds of Emma’s home in the Northern Territory, these tracks represent a new direction for Gallery B; a step away from previous ambient excursions into tropical-tinged downtempo. So AM may be a new direction, yet one which feels at home alongside previous Gallery B works — maintaining the delicate layers and dreamlike textures synonymous with her sound.
