Judge Jules Friday Night Radio One Vinyl Mix

Hey guys! I’ve been wanting to do a Judge Jules inspired mix for a while now so here it is! 
Judge Jules was a big part of my trance journey, whether through his MOS, Clubbers Guide or Clubbed compilations, various club nights and festivals, his Judgement Sunday night in Ibiza, and of course, his Radio One Dance Show on a Saturday afternoon, he’s always been one of my favourite DJs to listen to. There are loads of tracks that I first heard through him so thought I’d use some of those ‘tried & tested’ tunes for this mix. There’s a couple of mixes I’m not overly happy with and usually I would just redo the whole mix but I really can’t be bothered!

The Ibiza Annual - Summer Ninety Nine Mixed By Judge Jules & Tall Paul - CD1 - (1999)

This is the first installment of a series of Gatecrasher inspired Classic Trance mixes. Gatecrasher to me personally marked the beginning of a long journey into the very deepest echelons of the genre of Dance music. 
From listening to one of my mates' CD compilations through one earphone that I was sharing of his, I was hooked on this new kind of sound I had never heard before. After hearing this I then was made aware that this was a new movement of House and Trance music, and so I had to immerse myself in the best club experience, that I have still to this day, experienced in my life. There really is no way of being able to recreate those days in the Republic, other than gaining pure nostalgia from the treasured tracks that still stand strong today. The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.

Welcome to my page which is dedicated to all things trance! 

I’ve been DJing off and on since I got my first pair of Gemini belt drive decks way back in ‘99, which some people refer to as the “year of trance”.  My love for trance started when I first heard PvD - For an Angel and have been hooked ever since. 

I mainly DJ’d in the 00s at a few bars and clubs in Leicester, but never went any further than that. Then life took over and I gave it all up for about 10 years or so, selling all my DJ equipment in the process.  It was only in lockdown that I started it up again as was so bored, and I got back my love of trance and have been mixing ever since. 

I love most types of trance so wanted to create this page to share my mixes which are made up of my favourite tunes from over the years.
