Andrew Bayer releases double A-side 'What Is Real (with Vök) / If You Loop It, They Will Come', lifted from part two of his double album 'Duality'.

A two-part album project, ‘Duality’ began as a homage to Andrew's debut album, 'It's Artificial'. Crafted over three years, ‘Duality pt. 1' explores Bayer’s passion for downtempo and indie-pop, while ‘Duality pt. 2' takes on his forward-thinking trance and progressive sound.

‘Duality pt. 1' was released on August 12 via Anjunabeats. Met with acclaim from fans and supported by Sirius XM's Diplo and Liquid Todd, it featured collaborations with OLAN, Run Rivers, Asbjørn, MOR, Dave Thomas Junior and more.

On ‘Duality pt. 2’, Andrew takes the energy and BPM up a gear with ten tracks of cutting-edge club sounds - avant-garde sensibilities, aimed straight at the dancefloor.

Road tested on the 'Duality' tour and Andrew's performances at The Gorge and Brooklyn Mirage, 'What Is Real (with Vök) / If You Loop It, They Will Come' offer a tantalising preview of what's to come from 'Duality pt. 2’, out October 28.

"'What Is Real' and 'If You Loop It, They Will Come' highlight an important pairing of my club sound. 'What Is Real' tells the story of struggling with treating depression, and the side effects it brings. 'If You Loop It, They Will Come' is the response to being stuck in the eternal loop of knowing what is real and what isn’t. It snaps us back into a focused reality with a chorus of analog synths from the 70’s and 80’s, with a faint vocal sample repeating “it’s gonna be the same”. Accepting the fact that I always have and always will struggle with mental health issues was a big part of the acceptance I had to face while working on 'Duality'. Alongside a long-awaited UK appearance at Group Therapy Weekender London, Andrew once again joins Above & Beyond at their Group Therapy milestone celebrations, as they mark 500 episodes of their long-running radio show in Los Angeles in October.

The spiritual successor to 2015's 'All These Wounds', ilan Bluestone and BT join forces once again on ‘Run’, featuring vocals from Caitlin Charters.

At the forefront of progressive and trance for almost a decade, London-based ilan Bluestone made his debut on Anjunabeats in 2012. Producing high-energy trance with heart and soul, his emotional, song-drive approach to dance music has earned him eleven genre chart #1’s on Beatport and a legion of fans around the world.

With support from Pete Tong (Radio 1), Annie Nightingale (BBC R1), Charlie Hedges (BBC R1), Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond and many more, he's fast becoming one of trance music’s most influential figures. Ilan's had a busy 2022: he wrapped up his 'Impulse' tour in support of his second studio album, performed a barnstorming set at Group Therapy Weekender London, and working hard on new music in between touring the globe.

BT is a producer and songwriter from the US. He’s written tracks for Tiesto, Depeche Mode, Armin Van Buuren, Sting, Madonna, Britney Spears and many more, and has an expansive release schedule of his own under his belt. He’s released on Armada, Anjunabeats, Black Hole and Colorize and collaborated with ARTY, Matt Fax, Armin Van Buuren, JES, Maor Levi and many more. 

Bluestone and BT met Caitlin Charters on Clubhouse, the voice-based app that went viral during lockdown. It’s hard to guess this is Charters’ first release – her textured voice is perfectly suited to the soaring melodies of ‘Run’. The track got its first outing on Above & Beyond's Anjunabeats Volume 16 compilation, released in July 2022.

DUALITY: An album in two parts.

Since day one, I have always struggled with how to present myself. Am I a dance music producer who does downtempo / experimental albums? Or is it the other way around? My first album had a bit of both, which is why I have referred to ‘Duality’ as the true followup to ‘It’s Artificial’. Part One focuses on the downtempo side of things with hints of indie-pop, while Part Two explores my progressive and trance roots. This is by far my most raw and honest work. On June 1, we released two songs from each part: “Equal” with Asbjørn (Official), and “Midnight” with Alison May.

I did not do this album alone. These are more than just “features,” these are collaborations. Together, we have woven a massive journey that is deeply personal, and showcases our most vulnerable selves. Many of these fabulous collaborators are also LGBT+, and I am so proud to be a part of this wonderful musical family.
