We are delighted here at Shores to welcome back US-based rising talent Cloudcage, bringing us a stunning new EP. 

This talented artist has created a superb pair of tracks, blending gorgeous melodies with inspiring progressions and beautiful themes to produce a simply spectacular EP. The releases title is poignant as it is a reflection on the artist’s experience dealing with Leukemia, the tracks being conceived during a time in which treatment necessitated isolation. Cloudcage himself writes “The ideas for this EP came from a six month period where I mostly stayed at home just waiting for my treatment process to end. Not much happened during this time - hence the name “Stasis Period”. I tried to incorporate the feelings of intense sadness but also hopefulness I experienced into the songs themselves.”

Irish phenom Jay FM returns with "Follow Your Dreams," consisting of two atmospheric deep-progressive cuts. His previous release, "This Moment," showcased a distinct aptitude for downtempo-influenced deep house. On this follow-up release, Jay FM once again seeks to bring the listener into a state of pensive awareness, this time with subtle beats and echoing piano keys.

The memorable title cut begins by taking us deep within a forest-like ambiance. Minute atmospheric effects, such as the chirping of distant birds, punctuate the silence, just as the beat begins to slowly crescendo. Within moments, the once quiet woodland soundscape offers the soothing backdrop for an enchanting rhythm. The repeating refrain "follow your dreams" guides us along this journey, with elegant piano keys echoing in the shadows.

"Mirage" places the listener at a comfortable distance from life's lingering uncertainties; by retaining the atmospheric style of its release counterpart, the track offers something both familiar and novel: where before we were guided by the soothing melodic and vocal motifs of "Follow Your Dreams," "Mirage" offers a pensive moment to ponder the direction we're heading. Fading echoes of Jay FM's signature piano strokes invite further contemplation, as the song gradually reaches its conclusion.

A focused, consistent and singular producer, L.A-based Jason Ross continues to broaden his sonic horizons with 'Rooms'. Showcasing his ever-evolving sound palette, ‘Rooms’ underlines where Jason Ross the producer is now while giving us a tantalising view of where Jason Ross the artist is going.

Drawing inspiration from some of the places that have impacted his journey so far, ‘Rooms’ is a whirlwind trip through diverse soundscapes, including nods to his hometown of Minneapolis and the iconic Gorge Amphitheater in Washington State where he performed with Seven Lions in 2017.

“The Rooms concept is a representation of the evolution of me as a person and artist,” explains Jason. "Each room represents a pinnacle growing point in my life that has brought me to where I am today.”

A diverse 6 track odyssey, ‘Rooms’ sees Jason collaborate with a trio of US based talent. Having worked with Jason and Seven Lions on the Sirius XM BPM playlisted ‘Ocean’, Jonathan Mendelsohn adds a heartfelt vocal to ‘Close Your Eyes’. Inspired by the eclectic L.A. music scene, ‘IOU” pairs Jason with emerging singer / songwriter Emelie Brandt while ‘The Gorge’ is a psy-trance take on the classic Anjuna sound alongside Dimibo.

Showcasing his solo studio skills, the EP title track ‘Rooms’ and ‘New Dawn’ provide cinematic bookends to the release, while the frenzied energy of ‘East Of Eden’ reflects Jason’s turbulent tour in China.
