Globally renowned for his wealth of intricate productions and an expansive musical catalogue that strikes the perfect balance between power and grace, award-winning producer Rodriguez Jr. now announces his latest full-length studio album project, Feathers & Bones – set for worldwide release on May 26 via his newly launched imprint of the same name.

An extensive, ten-track opus that dives deep into the Frenchman’s complex sonic identity, Feathers & Bones was recorded over the course of two years, conceptualized while living in Paris and completed from his new home, Miami. Pivoting towards a new chapter in his illustrious career, the album houses a collection of new Rodriguez Jr. solo productions, two singles with Cuban-American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Liset Alea, his collaboration with multifaceted Italian artist Giorgia Angiuli, as well as an eagerly-anticipated debut collaboration with legendary English hip hop / electronica outfit, Stereo MC’s.

Following the recent release of Tuning The Moon with Giorgia Angiuli, Rodriguez Jr. reveals the next vocal single to be taken from the album. Teaming up with his wife and Nouvelle Vague collaborator, Liset Alea, Amplify emanates hedonistic grooves across its duration, combining raw bass, celestial synths and Liset’s alluring vocals. Working together in perfect harmony, this charming creation will leave a lasting impression on the listener. Joining Amplify, Rodriguez Jr. also delivers his first instrumental record in the form of Lithium. Exuding a mysterious atmosphere, the track builds gradually with flurrying synths and eerie pads, pushed along by raw, driving bass.

Speaking about Feathers & Bones, Rodriguez Jr. mentioned:

“Now more than ever, I feel the urgency to explore different formats and genres. Twenty-five years of experience in music production and thousands of shows for diverse audiences all over the world has taught me that the unpredictable is often at the core of every achievement, especially today when dance music has become so formatted. The album is a pivot towards a new chapter of my life and carries the personal alchemy that I seek in my live shows; oscillating between dreamy melodies, ethereal textures and kinetic beats.”

Giving insight into Amplify’s backstory, Liset Alea said:

“Written in lock-down Paris, a time of deep reflection and dreams of escape, I kept asking myself what takes me beyond the craziness of this world, what makes me vibrate at a higher frequency, what amplifies me? Whatever guarantees my goosebumps, it is definitely sacred and worth writing a song about.”

While some follow trends, others set them. Rodriguez Jr. – also known as Olivier Mateu – has spent over twenty years in the industry; with his vast experience of all genres of electronic music positioning him as the visionary of melodic house and techno that he is today. With early mentorship from the legendary Laurent Garnier, Rodriguez Jr. gradually honed his style into the dynamic, colourful sound of beauty that can be regularly found on Mobilee, Anjunadeep, Armada, and demanded on remixes for Stephan Bodzin, Monolink, Booka Shade, Eli & Fur, Jan Blomqvist, Röyksopp, NTO, Tricky, Timo Maas, and many more. Dedicated to infusing every ounce of his creativity into his productions and performances, Rodriguez Jr. is undoubtedly one of the scene’s most captivating artists.

Sasha's superb remix of alternative indie artist SYML's critically acclaimed single 'The Bird' is out now on Nettwerk

After Sasha's successful collaboration with Kölsch 'The Lights' this year, his remix of 'The Bird' gives the track new wings through a compelling bassline and bubbling staccato percussion, complementing the original haunting vocals and poignant guitar. 

‘When SYML approached me to remix ‘The Bird’, I couldn’t wait to get in the studio’ Sasha says. ‘The original has beautiful ethereal melodies, and incredible vocals, so there were amazing parts to work with. I just had to get the beats right and I’m really happy with how it turned out.’

Always innovative, Sasha is no stranger to reinterpreting music outside the electronic genres. Fans of his audaciously assured reworks of Rüfüs Du Sol's 'Innerbloom' and Klangstof's 'Hostage' will be thrilled with this new offering.

The original release from Seattle-based artist and producer SYML (aka Brian Fennell) was one of the 'Best 11 New Songs We Heard in February (2019)' by NPR: 'takes him to glitchier and more soaring terrain, like some sort of gorgeous pastiche of Hozier and Sigur Rós.'

Anjunadeep warmly welcomes renowned Spanish producer and label owner Edu Imbernon for his debut Anjunadeep release ‘S.Y.L.’.

You don't know how much you miss something until it's no longer there, and never have we missed the inside of a rammed club as much as when we listen to 'Steps'. This uplifting, happy-go-lucky body of work with a distinct 80s retro vibes features Jeremy's trademark thumping energy and suspense that we know and love.

Albeit joyous in essence, the lead melody in 'Steps' still masterfully captures Jeremy's melancholic and omnipresent undertone, and adds a sour note to the otherwise saccharine lead, creating a perfectly balanced concoction for the spiring and summer.
