The ‘Chronicles 24’ artwork displays a photograph of a pair of jellyfish, captured by Daniel Nicholson. Jellyfish come in a variety of types, from the massive Lion’s Mane jellyfish with tentacles over 100 feet long to the tiny, nearly invisible Irukandji, each with unique adaptations suited to their environment. By studying these diverse species, scientists can learn about efficient swimming mechanics, bio-luminescence, and even advanced healing processes, as jellyfish possess remarkable regenerative abilities. Additionally, some jellyfish, like the Turritopsis dohrnii, exhibit biological immortality, offering insights into aging and cellular regeneration that could have implications for human health research. Winter / Cyan's Child" is the hot new two tracker from Michael Cassette, aka Matti Heininen and Erkka Lempiäinen. Over the last 12 months these two Finns have established themselves as the masters of 80's inspired melodic house music, first with Shadow's Movement, one of the highlights of SOS' excellent Balance compilation, and more recently with their remix of Paul Keeley's "A Sort Of Homecoming", which stormed the Beatport charts and picked up BBC Radio One airplay on James Zabiela's Glastonbury Essential Mix.

Winter is a real feelgood gem, with 80's synths and riffs riding bareback across a magical, goose-bump inducing groove. Cyan Child is a more intense affair and sounds like a natural follow up to last year's debut single "Zeppelin", picking up a huge reaction when road-tested at the pair's recent performance at Ministry of Sound.

With this new single and another EP lined up on on Anjunadeep under their Komytea guise, not to mention a monster bootleg in the works, it looks set to be a big year for Michael Cassette…

Handpicked by curators James Grant & Jody Wisternoff, the Anjunadeep 12 Samplers collectively host 9 highlights from the compilation. Part 2 features a new remix from the guys as well as tracks from Tagavaka, Luigi Sambuy and Arswain.

First up, Jody & James put their stamp on ‘Kilkee’, an ambient track written by British duo Solomon Grey. Following his first standalone release ‘Paper EP’, Luigi Sambuy collaborates with Arswain on ‘Partitioning II’, a succession from Arswain’s track ‘Partitioning’ released in 2020. Utilising Arswain’s vocals and a fast-paced bass, the duo demonstrate their production flair. Closing the sampler is Anjunadeep debutant Tagavaka with ‘State Lines’, a track characterised by rising arpeggios and swelling chords.
