The Fabulous Marking Time is an American Roots and Rockabilly band based in the Adirondack Mts. of New York State. Our focus is the music of the lower Mississippi where Mark lived in the 1980s. As a band member of Uncle Ben and his Nephews (a original Beale St. Blues Band fronted by legendary guitarist and songwriter Ben Perry) Mark heard and played with many outstanding members of the Memphis music scene. Mark has since located himself in upstate NY where we keep the music hot in spite of the cold long winters. 

The Fabulous Marking Time delivers danceable numbers as well as slow bluesy ballads all mixed up in a southern gumbo of fantastic music.

We started playing together only a year ago and have since then developed a style were harmonies and lyrics has become our passion.
Our dream individually has for a long time been to go to Nashville and play and listen to music and now we have the privilege to experience it together.

My influences include Toy Caldwell, Clapton, Waylon Jennings, SRV, Travis Tritt, Zack Taylor, Keith Whitley and Randy Owen.

I've been in a lot of bands and had a lot of fun with a lot of great people. I've never had the opportunity to make my "Album" but I have done some recordings over the years. There are some covers on this page that I have used for demos to book a live show here and there. The rest are my originals. Some recorded well and some not so much.
