17 songs for 17 paintings of the forest.

This is the sixth album 'The Hidden Forest' from Anoice, an instrumental music band featuring a dark and cinematic sound. Because of the effects of the spread of coronavirus, Anoice decided to cancel all upcoming tours in March last year, and after that, released new works from Anoice and the members' solo/side projects; Yuki Murata, RiLF, Films, Mizu Amane, Cru, and Tokyo Ambient Collective and took charge of soundtracks for movies and TV drama series, but have now finally completed Anoice's new album after the longest ever production period in their history.

This album 'The Hidden Forest' took inspiration from 17 paintings of the forest painted by Naoko Okada, and includes 17 songs with the same title as each of the paintings, with a total length of 72 minutes. It consists of mainly beautiful neo-classical songs played by a piano and string quartet such as the first lead single 'a perfect day for a funeral' and 'second coming', and also spectacular songs with dynamic drums like the powerful ground, such as the second lead single 'quiet wish' and 'the promised day' and sometimes quiet ambient music made of collaboration with the nature sounds such as 'into the light' and 'trickery and butterflies'. You can find similar themed melodies and patterns of the codes, with similar instrument formations through the whole album, but no two are identical, just like the leaves of trees within the forest.

In addition, one of the biggest features of this album production process is having used not only recording studios but also power of nature such as forests and rivers. You may be able to feel as though you are standing quietly in the forest via the songs with the sounds of animals such as birds, owls, insects, and flogs and the nature such as wind, water, and squeaking trees which were sometimes recorded in a foggy forest, sometimes in a dark forest in middle of the night, and sometimes in a forest where a strong wind blew.

This album with the tension in the air will be hopefully be remembered in history as one of the most beautiful dark music albums of all time.

On the 6th August, the instrumental music band featuring a dark and cinematic sound, Anoice, will release a digital-limited second lead single 'quiet wish' from their ​upcoming 6th album 'The Hidden Forest' which will be available on the 17th September.

This single is included in the album as the third track and also takes on the beginning of the album with main themed melodies. It begins quietly with an acoustic guitar, harp, and viola, and then, a piano and a string quartet formed by two violins, a viola, and a cello, and powerful drums are added. This emotional and magnificent sound is what forms Anoice's originality and this is one of the masterpieces of instrumental music.

The story starts from the day of the funeral.

On the 2nd July, the instrumental music band featuring a dark and cinematic sound, Anoice, will release a digital-limited first lead single 'a perfect day for a funeral' from their ​upcoming 6th album 'The Hidden Forest' which will be available on the 17th September.

This single is included in the album as the second track, and is a masterpiece of neo-classical music consisting of sub themed melodies played by a piano and a string quartet formed by two violins, a viola, and a cello, and also quiet but destructive noises made from a guitar and organ.

The album 'The Hidden Forest' will be released not only on normal jewel case but also number-limited A4-sized box version which includes separately extraordinary-printed 17 paintings, a visual card which will be enable to access to the digital streaming services for the album, an instant photo, and a copy on compact disc.

It has been four years since Anoice’s 4th album, 'into the shadows’, the masterpiece of neoclassical, post-rock, and ambient music, featuring ’old lighthouse' which became the 1st trending track on Spotify as Japanese artists, and 'invasion’ which was used as the credit roll tune of 'Girl Lost', a US movie which was the 1st trending movie on Amazon Prime Video. An instrumental music band featuring a magnificent cinematic sound, Anoice will finally release their 5th studio album 'Ghost in the Clocks’, after releases from the members' solo projects, Takahiro Kido and Yuki Murata, and side projects RiLF, Films, and Mizu Amane. It’s set to be a future classic.

On this album, Anoice express the world that follows 'The Black Rain', their highly-praised 3rd album, which was selected as one of the top albums of the year by many music review websites. This is a new dark cinematic masterpiece that is also Anoice's unique sound.

This album was created from passionate piano lines and a beautiful strings section formed by violin, viola, cello, and flute, and an energetic rhythm, but especially 'time' and 'heroes' have a powerful sound akin to a Hollywood soundtrack. Also, woven into the fabric of the album is beautiful chamber music with melodies that will echo through your minds, such as ‘missing’, a re-arranged version of a piece composed for 'Double Fantasy’, a Japanese TV drama series, and 'it' reminiscent of 'Liange' that is one of the tracks included in Anoice's 1st album ‘Remmings’, a popular song for Anoice fans. In addition, you can also feel a punk spirit of Anoice in a destructive rock tune ‘rebirth'.

Artist Yoko Shinto, who took charge of the artworks of Anoice's 3rd album 'The Black Rain', once again complimented the music with her wonderful illustrations. 'Ghost in the Clocks' will be released not only on CD and digital but also vinyl record, a first for the band, and will be distributed worldwide. You can also get an amount-limited postcard designed by Yoko Shinto and a sticker designed by Naoko Okada who is the illustrator for some releases from Anoice, Yuki Murata, and Films.
