You would be excused for thinking, listening to my stuff on here, that I'm some kind go manic depressive, I'm really not though. It's just that everything I do sounds sad. Whenever I play piano, it sounds sad, my orchestral stuff, sounds sad, etc.

Something I've been messing about with for a week or so now. It will hopefully be my final PhD portfolio piece. It's meant for an ensemble and will feature lots of improvisation.

An updated version of this piece that I've been working on for the last week or so.

Composing for this kind of ensemble is a new thing for me. This is hopefully one of the final pieces for my PhD portfolio. I just need to find a group of musicians to perform and record it for me.

Quite fitting for International Women's Day (the track was first uploaded on soundcloud (08/03), the speech is from Amelia Earhart, a great pilot from in between the two world wars. She talks about the benefits from technological advances, especially for women - fitting in the (overly?) positive view on progress of mankind of those times. Only a couple of years later, mankind would show that technology could be used for far less innocent purposes...
