I Am A Slow Joe

The Fear Of Nothing To Do by Anteeter, premiered Friday, April 1st, 2022, on all music streaming platforms. The catchy, indie-pop number, follows Anteeter’s debut single: Slow Joe, which featured along with other film scoring done by Anteeter (Mike Kelley) on the indie, horror film: The Party’s Over.
Despite the notoriety of the release date, even the most casual of listeners would immediately recognize that the potential contagiousness of TFONTD’s ear-worm, is no joke. A style completely of its own, TFONTD’s energetic, synth-heavy instrumentation, smashes masterfully against Anteeter’s calm, sing-songy vocals, keeping any streamer’s repeat button, perpetually on. TFONTD was produced alongside Fleshed Out frontman, Chris Dunn (a long-time collaborator and a former high school classmate) amongst the release of his most recent project Fleshed Out II.
To celebrate the release, Anteeter, (successfully) attempted to break the world record for the most amount of times that a song has been played in a row, live, in front of a live audience. Though the previous record was daunting (Travis Scott and his song Goosebumps at a whopping 15 times in a row), Anteeter shattered the record, playing TFONTD 21 times in a row. Anteeter (Mike Kelley) was passionately accompanied by fellow artists Normal Writing (on bass, guitar, and trombone), Chris Dunn (on guitar and synthesizer), and Saint Romanov (on cello) in front of a small, yet ecstatic group of loyal fans and friends.

The Fear Of Nothing To Do

Forever by Anteeter, premiered Tuesday, October 11th, 2022, across all music streaming platforms. The tumultuous, alt-rock banger, was released alongside a music video by Michael Picciano-Shanton and will be followed by a music video for Anteeter’s previous single, I Am A Slow Joe, by Joe Brocero (director of G-Herbo’s Me, Myself, and I, music video).
Bombastic and intruding, Forever instantly grabs the listener’s attention, enveloping them in a deranged cacophony of vivacious melodies and instrumentation, practically daring them to try and not head-bang along. Forever’s laidback and sarcastic verses masterfully build anticipation until they, at last, smash into the track’s absurdly catchy choruses, creating an irresistibly punky juxtaposition. Engineered alongside Chris Dunn, frontman of up-and-coming Chicago band, Fleshed Out, Forever creates a similar, sonic aesthetic to popular alt-rock artists like the Nine Inch Nails, the Killers, and Interpol.
Forever, is Anteeter’s 3rd single (following the Fear of Nothing To Do and I Am A Slow Joe) and will release alongside a music video, shot by Michael Picciano-Schatton, a regular in the Chicago film scene and amongst popular alt-rock Chicago bands like Arcadia Grey. The Forever music video release will be followed by a music video for Anteeter’s previous single: I Am A Slow Joe, in the Winter of 2022. The latter video will be directed by the acclaimed Joe Brocero, who has directed for the likes of G-Herbo, Boogie with a Hoodie, Pardy Alone, and Jae Ham (from Netflix’s Rhythm + Flow).

Forever

Chicago-based artist, Anteeter, will premiere his first ever
live-recording project: Live At 33 EP, on Friday, April 7th, 2023, across all music streaming platforms. The EP includes two live versions of previously released Anteeter singles, I Am A
Slow Joe and Forever, as well as a surprise, unreleased Anteeter track: TakeTime. Live At 33 EP was recorded deep within the bowels of the infamous basement studios at 33 Ida B. Wells, in downtown Chicago. Anteeter (Mike Kelley) alongside musicians Django Wilson
(drummer of Audiocide) and Ed Pogalz (bassist of Black Square) successfully captured the wildly energetic and engaging live sound that Anteeter has become known for. The EP was produced, mixed, and mastered by renowned São Paulo producer Pedro Canaan, an associate
engineer at Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio and founder of the São Paulo-based label, Kalindi Music. The session was recorded by a team of engineers including Chicago DJ, DJ Tacco (a.k.a. Tacco Mills), and Kingsize Soundlabs associate: Raina Villareal. To celebrate the release, Anteeter’s playing a slew of shows throughout the Chicagoland area on
March 16th, 25th, and 30th, finishing with a release party for Live At 33 EP on April 8th at The Cubby Bear alongside SMBA, Fleshed Out, and Kat Dion.
