Time Lost

It’s already been almost a month since the shooting in Douglas Stoneman High School in Parkland. Most of us have turned off our minds and have allowed the weekly news cycle to make us focus on other things. Since the shooting I really delved into a lot of thoughts personally about how “I” and “We” can “Be The Change.” My friend Dot and I tackle a lot of issues but the purpose here is to bring Unity, Diversity, and mainly Relatedness so we work first on having a connection with this generation.

The song is about the past present and future. The past of my biological father being absent in the home, my present state as a father trying to figure out how to be a good father despite the dysfunction I grew up with, and what I see for my son’s future. I want to be a father who can teach my son and guide him in the right direction and that’s why this song is a legacy for him to look back upon. The song is a remixed version of Nas’ “The Message” and features a different guitar by 4th Regiment. Recorded and mastered at Eravox Studios.

Paradigm Shift

“Freedom Now" is a call for a new paradigm where freedom reigns.

Believing in freedom is believing in the true value of Man. 

As humankind explores the experience of taking responsibility for its own actions, we grow, as a species, in wisdom.

Our bondage is an evolutionary disadvantage. 

It restricts our ability to truly learn from the consequences of our actions and decisions, for what they actually are and not for what they mean in the context of Law or the system based on fear and violence it relies on. 

This song is an invitation to feel into what freedom really means for ourselves as an individual and as a collective. 

In Nature, all other animals are born free. 

We deserve to be free too. 

I was inspired to share about this topic after reading “The End of All Evil” by Jeremy Locke. I quote a beautiful and inspiring passage in this song.
