"Heinali airs his ambient mood classics. Oleg Shpudeiko (the man behind Heinali) creates a gloomy atmospheric environment with the piano, strings, ambient / glitch structures. "Air" is his 6 song album.

Heinali from Kiev, Ukraine started composing music in 2003. His sound is generally eclectic, though often described as atmospheric and emotional. In 2009 he joined the Soloma art group and composed music for media art performances “Traces on the Snow”, premiered at “I Love Kiev” contemporary art festival (Kiev, Ukraine, 2009) and “Aero”, premiered at “Gogol Fest” contemporary art festival (Kiev, Ukraine, 2010). His music was featured in ‘Ni Ogros Ni Princesas’ Provizional Danza choreography directed by Carmen Werner (Madrid, Spain, 2011). Collaborated with Maria Navrotskaya, Pleq, Merzbow, Aiode, Anton Baibakov, Orchestra Eclettica e Sincretista, Matt Finney. Collaboration with American poet Matt Finney became a separate heavier and darker sounding project. In 2011 they wrote music for the opening of Olya Pischanskaya’s photo exhibition, which took place at Korobchinsky Art Centre (Odessa, Ukraine, 2011).

Heinali joined Fluttery Records family in 2012. "We signed international music project Draff Krimmy" says Taner Torun, the label owner. "Jan Hammer recommended us Jun Minowa and his projects Gargle and Yawning. Heinali was introduced to us by Jun Minowa. It seems that artist we work with are so happy that they are recommending us to their friends and our family is growing that way."

When we return to Heinali's latest "Air" we find cinematic sad music, strings moving around the central piano motifs which are minimalistic. Power of light touches, the ambience, the echo and the sense"

This is a patch i made in Absynth 5 of Beethoven's String Quartet No. 15 3rd Movement. There was no overdubbing. This was all done using Absynth's envelopes. I held down a middle c note for over 3 minutes and recorded the output of the patch using Absynth's record feature.You can download the original patch at the Ni website Absynth user library.

Inspired by a book called Outlander by Diana Gabaldon this piece of music is a combination of my own theme for one of the main characters, Jamie Fraser, with a more upbeat second half.

I'm hoping this will become more than just a single track if Diana Gabaldon gives her blessing to allow me to continue... ;-)

UPDATE: Diana and her agent have said that there could be copyright issues with the publisher and with the makers of the new Outlander TV series if I try to do something 'official'. So I'm hoping that if I keep this as just _fan_ music with no way to purchase, just the option to download for free that nobody will come chasing after me with cease and desist orders!

Casa Noble Lisboa Especial 118: Andorinhas da noite

Fans of the Berlin based Nils Frahm are by now familiar with his beguiling live shows where more often than not fellow touring artists are encouraged to join Frahm on stage – the likes of Rachel Grimes, Rob Lowe of Balmorhea as well as label colleagues Peter Broderick and Ólafur Arnalds have all obliged with fascinating results. It will come as no surprise then that Nils Frahm, an accomplished composer and producer who signed to Erased Tapes in 2009, has extended his collaborative live musings to encompass the recording studio, working for the first time with noted cellist and fellow Berliner Anne Müller to produce 7fingers. 

With their first collective release Frahm and Müller have built a world where modern classical and electronica collide creating an ‘intoxicating and delicious’ collection of songs. Primarily a pianist Nils Frahm provides evidence with 7fingers that he can effortlessly turn electric throwing in loops, samples and glitches to accompany and showcase Müller on cello. Anne Müller, a renowned musician noted for her work with the Wolf-Ferrari-Ensemble, Phillip Boa and recent tours with Agnes Obel, proves an amp musical partner for Frahm. 

As the recognition continues to grow for Nils Frahm’s previous solo piano works Wintermusik and The Bells, 2011 sees a new side to this young talent as he embarks on a detour into strings, symphonies and glitch beats alongside the estimable Anne Müller.

My contribution to Piano Day 2019 and played live for the first time at AfrikaBurn 2019 (State of Bliss on Saturday 1-2 am)

Here is a dreamy piano piece which started as a short improvisation thinking about my AfrikaBurn experience. After having had four improvisation bars resting in the drawer for months I re-listened one morning and finalised this piece within an hour, simply following my heart and emotions at that very moment. It stops as abrupt as a dream.

The current version, however, is a remake posted April 7, 2019 with less 16th notes.

I grew up in Copenhagen, Denmark, and believe it has a very danish sound to it - whatever that is.
