In 2010 Anathema released We’re Here Because We’re Here, the band’s first new album for almost seven years. The album was awarded Classic Rock’s Prog Album of the Year as well as a host of other accolades and the producer, Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree), has described it as “definitely among the best albums I’ve ever had the pleasure to work on.”
The band now return with Weather Systems, their brand new studio album. The album will be available as a limited edition 2 disc set which will come packaged in a deluxe digibook and feature a 5.1 surround sound mix of the album.

Anathema have been at the forefront of the UK rock/metal movement for many years. They began their journey as pioneers of melodic heavy music, influencing a myriad of bands to follow them, before outgrowing all genres and limitations as they fearlessly explored new territory and new ways to express feeling through sound.

Formed in Liverpool in 1990, the band’s sound, and musical vision has continually evolved over the ensuing years while always remaining true to their original goal of creating forward thinking, meaningful, passionate and honest music. The line-up is really a collective of two families who were quite simply born to do it. Anathema consists of brothers Vincent, Daniel and Jamie Cavanagh, alongside childhood friends John Douglas and his sister Lee, who is an incredible singer in her own right.

There is a deeper bond in the group that transcends usual band politics, ego, and self-interest. They have a shared vision: to make the most incredible music they possibly can, and it seems, despite the lavish praise heaped on the band for their past work, that they are now taking their work to a whole new level.

Blackfield II is the second studio album by Blackfield. It was recorded in both Tel Aviv and London, and is OUT NOW.

"End of the World" is a cover of an older song in Hebrew, performed by Geffen and Berry Sakharof. Hebrew versions of "1,000 People" and "Epidemic" were included in Geffen's album from 2006, "With the Time". A demo version of "Where Is My Love?" was released on the bonus disc of the limited edition of Blackfield's first album.

"Christenings" was originally written for Porcupine Tree's 2005 album Deadwing but was never released. Richard Barbieri and Gavin Harrison are both featured on this track.

This record re-unites Aviv and Steven in the follow up to 2004's hugely acclaimed debut, which was hailed at the time as 'hypnotically effective' (Classic Rock, UK ****) and 'another strike of genius from Steven Wilson' (Eclipsed, Germany).

Blackfield II, recorded in Tel Aviv and London and produced and mixed by Steven Wilson, continues and expands on the band's orchestrated melancholic rock sound, combining great hooks, sweeping strings, explosive guitars, and lush vocal harmonies.
