DJ Frostee Oldskool Set On Flashback

Hey peeps. Welcome to the latest addition of Music and me, Episode 3. And this week, I invite a good friend of mine, Mark Tate AKA DJ Spuddy to the studio to share his stories and experiences in regards to his DJ journey. 
Massively into Hardcore as a child and a HUGE fan of the Collesium trend that was a hit in our region, and with inspiration from his 2 older brothers, Spuddy was desired to keep on listening and collecting music as well as practicing DJing on his brothers set up in the bedroom. 

Later on in life, Spuddy would turn to a new genre that touched his heart, Trance.. I mean, it’s a magical genre, but it’s a genre that would soon turn his music life into one positive spiral. Forming the brand ‘Limitless - Trance Gathering’, Spuddy would’ve never knew this was a huge take off. With people across the north east attending and watching some unreal talent on the vinyl, which at one point in my head was a write off, but not here, not now. It’s with huge congrats to Mark that he has brought vinyl trance back into our lives again by creating a brand that would storm events throughout the north east area, such as Redcar, Saltburn and now Middlesbrough. 
Mark has had a huge impact on my life, giving me a chance to perform at the first Limitless gig in 2021, and it is this gig that not only inspired me to drive more on, but to be more creative in my music life.

The name is Anton, and I use Dex.. I am A Vinyl and controller Disc Jockey. 

Music is life, that’s why our hearts have beats, and music has been with me since I was a child. Picking up the love for it is with thanks to my brother, Thomas, who is also a DJ. Heavily into A State of Trance and various House music as a young lad, my passion and desire to use Decks was something I had to jump on and so I did, grabbing my first set up back in 2019. Throughout the days before this set up, I would often use my brothers, but getting your own is something you get a drive for. 

Since the set up, I have digged crates like never before, as I loved the original vinyl records full stop. Classic/Progressive/Tech and Melodic Trance. House, Tech house and Techno/Melodic Techno is where the focus is, and will forever be the focus. 

Outside the music, I now host my own podcast, giving DJs a chance to showcase their journeys and stories of how they became DJs and why. After all, we all get here some way or another. You can find this podcast on Spotify as well as here. Search- Music and me - The antndex Podcast. 

I’m also a huge Middlesbrough FC fan and an ambassador for Autism. I collect coffee stamps to get a free one (because.. who doesn’t like free stuff?!) Work wise, I’m a full time Teaching Assistant in Special Educational Needs and a freelance nightclub DJ.
