Started this yesterday mate and just finished this morning! Cracking mix bro 🙌

Following on from my mixes featuring Mauro Picotto, Marco V, M.I.K.E. Push & Airwave this is my final (for now) tribute mix and this one is dedicated to my Trance hero and all time favourite Trance DJ & producer Ferry Corsten. This is a combination of 33 original tracks or remixes from the man from Rotterdam. 

Quite simply without the music of Ferry Corsten my life could and probably would be very different from what it is today. March 1999 saw the UK release of Out Of The Blue under his alias System F. That was followed a couple of months later by the release of an album called Trance Nation on Ministry of Sound that was mixed by Ferry. This was the album that shaped the future of music for me and my obsession with Trance had begun. I've had the pleasure of seeing him play live a few times and even the hpnpur of meeting him after a set of his at Slinky either 2003 or 2004 (pictured).

People may think there are some obvious tracks missing but this is what I had in my collection at the time of recording so this is what I've picked. It was only going to be 25 tunes but I got carried away. Ooops!

After returning from a holiday to Ibiza in the summer of 1998, Antone bought his first turntables and took up DJ’ing spinning vinyl from multiple genres such as house, garage and trance.

Feeling like a fish out of water in the usual beer boy type of venue with their mainstream, chart based music policy, he yearned to hear those 4 on the floor beats once again.

After reading an article in Mixmag listing ‘20 clubs to visit before you die’, he was surprised to see one situated in Coalville, which was local to his native Leicester. That club was ‘The Emporium’ and the night was called ‘Passion’. Walking through those doors for the very first time a few weeks later changed his life forever and It was from that moment that his love for trance music grew exponentially.

Gaining inspiration from Marc West, John ‘00’ Fleming, Armin van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold and deciding to fully focus on trance, he started handing out mix CD’s to promotors which soon saw him getting bookings to play out live on a regular basis in his local area and at nights such as Nocturnal, BabyPassion and Fixation.

DJ’ing was front and centre of Antone’s life for the next 8 years until real life and other interests got in the way. This hiatus lasted over a decade, but in all that time his love for trance music never left him. Ever since he returned and fully embraced today’s new breed of digital technology, he is once again at one with the music he loves and hopes he can take the next step to continue his career.
