DJ and producer K Alexi is one of Chicago's true heroes and cited by many as a pioneer the city's sound. At a young age of 12 K was already moving in the right circles befriending worldwide legends like Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy whilst frequenting the famous Warehouse.

K's upbringing in Chicago in the 70's and 80's meant he was exposed to a range of genres and different styles of music including Stevie Wonder Prince Curtis Mayfield and David Huff - these same names would prove to be the roots of influence. K's first pressing 'Essence of a Dream' is still regarded a classic today.

A tally of successful hit records remixing and collaborating with other artists resulted in his talents being sought by a diverse range of artists like The Pet Shop Boys ,Dj Deep ,Derrick May Angel Abi, D- ROLAND ,Paul Johnson ,Dj Gregory ,Kenny Dope ,Mr Lee (who produces for R Kelly) Gene Hunt ,ROLANDO, Maurice Joshua ,MARSHALL JEFFERSON ,Marc Romboy ,Mark Grant ,Larry Heard & Robert Owens, TjenTjen, Dave Angel Felix Da Housecat and Will Smith.Ect

Just as notorious for his DJing ability Mr K 'Alexi has played at just about every exotic location imaginable as well as in the UK his smooth blend of house disco and TecSoul that is also the name of his label "TecSoul"

In the mid 90's, Garrett Dillon fell in love with electronic music via acts like The Prodigy, Aphex Twin, Autechre, and Underworld. In 1997 he attended his first warehouse rave in Detroit and immediately fell in love with the pounding kick drums and dark synths of techno.

Soon after, Garrett (more commonly known as Dillon) purchased his first set of Technics 1200s and a Vestax mixer. Within months he was playing gig after gig and quickly building a fanbase. Naturally, the promoting bug bit next and he organized his first event in 1998. He has since promoted nearly 50 underground events in and around Detroit.

In the early 2000's Dillon teamed up with local DJ Alastair Todd to form a label focusing on the hard tribal sounds of European techno. Around this time he started to play events across North America, from Toronto to Miami. The duo also performed together as a tag team, mixing everything from funky tribal to brutal industrial, while utilizing outboard effects and loop recorders (well before simply pressing a button in Traktor automatically did these tasks for you).

After a brief break from the scene, Dillon resurfaced as a performer and promoter, throwing what many called "the best Detroit party of 2011". His performances began to bridge the gap between DJ and live performance, utilizing MIDI controllers, Maschine and a host of effects to dismantle, rebuild and recreate music on the fly. 2012 will also see the rebirth of Garrett Dillon as a producer, and the launch of his record label "Dystopian Rhythm", co-founded with Margin Walker. Several high profile names are slated to be released on the label, along with Dillon's own production.

Uun's techno blends widescreen grayscale imagery with propulsive dancefloor pressure. Whether crafting what Hardwax dubs "straight ahead techno juggernauts" or deep, introspective tools, his work is grounded in a masterful command of atmosphere and texture. 

Uun developed his interest in fringe sounds as a guitarist and drummer in his hometown of Kansas City before shifting his attention to electronic music in 2012. This led him to relocate to Detroit, where he spent seven years pushing deeper into the underground techno scene, refining his production and performance methods. Between the Midwest and  several periods in Berlin—another city he's found a deep connection to—he's honed a style that's allowed his music to nimbly navigate between different subgenres, "quietly infiltrating" the genre from multiple angles at once. 

Uun's sound and his ability to mold it into a variety of forms has captured the attention of lauded techno labels like Mord, Semantica, and Soma. On his own Ego Death imprint, he pushes past genre confines and deeper into his music's underlying themes, exploring existentialism, duality, and the role of the artist in the modern era. His first full length, 2022's Derealization, interrogated dreams through rebuilding memories of liminal spaces, and on his latest Ego Death release, 2024's Platform Decay, he laces his tracks with a poignant criticism of social media-driven cultural homogenization while doubling down on his own uncompromising sound. 

As a live performer, Uun distills years of his studio practice into cathartic sets that build off his productions while pushing them into exploratory new territory. His live show has taken him to legendary clubs like Berlin's Tresor, Tbilisi's Khidi, Detroit's Movement Festival, and Brookyln's Basement, and alongside the decade-plus of releases under his belt, it's safe to say Uun's infiltration of techno might not be so quiet for much longer.
