'Shore to Shore’ is the debut album set to drop from Phase on Metalheadz, and after the artist’s history on the label, it was the next obvious step for both him as well as the imprint. Handpicked by Metalheadz label boss Goldie, the Belgium native residing in Switzerland is following in the footsteps of a Beatport No.1 on Metalheadz with his collaboration ‘Call In Me’ alongside Grey Code with a brand new album.

‘Shore to Shore’ brings back the all-encompassing listening experience of an album. With thirteen brand new records offered by the producer, each selection is as immersive as the next. Beginning with its title track, it delivers layer upon layer of cascading breaks and stunning vocal crescendos from LaMeduza and it’s the optimum way for Phase to pull you into his domain. ‘Stress Out’ and ‘Frameworks’ provide a darker climate, juxtaposed by the ethereal tones of ‘Flowstone’ and ‘Cloud Contours’. The more stripped back assembly of ‘Something’s Missing’ pushes against the drum rhythms of ‘Inner Schism’, whilst LaMeduza appears once again for ‘Thirds’ and ‘Good For Nothing’. ‘Quick Fix’ flips the switch with its subterranean levels meanwhile the grooves of ‘Tatter Tune’ add more to the track list’s diversity. Ending the album comes ‘Riven’ with its jazz-inspired breakdowns and ‘Only One’ with UK talent Tyler Daley – a name in his own right and highlighting the scope at Phase’s fingertips.

Even the album’s artwork, hand-painted by Italian designer Matteo Saccò is a visual representation of the album's journey. Mirroring its audio experiences of different emotions and turbulences throughout, it repackages these themes in a visual format. Highlighting once again that ‘Shore to Shore’ truly is an all-encompassing project.

For the burgeoning producer, ‘Shore to Shore’ is one of his biggest projects. It lays bare the musicality he has available to him through years of dedication to the craft and with a combined journey, Metalheadz was the perfect place for its release. It proves that alongside several singles laying in its wake, April is looking to be another important month for both the producer and the LP’s home at Metalheadz.

Dispatch proudly presents the next chapter in the continued evolution of the Black Barrel sound. The ‘40% Vulgarity EP’ features four tracks of pure funk from this unique producer. Known for his impressive sound design and high energy productions, the prolific Black Barrel continues to impress with every release. 

Title track ‘40% Vulgarity’ sets the tone for the whole EP - a rolling stepper punctuated with old skool rave stabs and edits that compliment his trademark sample based chops and that infectious groove that fuels his productions. 

‘I Feel You’ continues with more tough beats and heavyweight bass. The appropriately titled ‘Russian Rolla’ packs an impactful, glitched out swing beat and the acidic, snarling bassline of ‘Turn Me On’ completes the EP in fine form.

The ‘Rainfall Down EP’ sees the welcome return of Black Barrel to Dispatch, with four tracks that represent the deeper, minimal side of the Russian maestro’s musical output. Known for his technical production skills and is no stranger to an upfront dancefloor smasher, Black Barrel throws another curve ball with an EP that showcases his musical versatility.

‘I Wanna Go’ starts the EP with smooth liquid warmth, with sub-bass a plenty for this classy roller. ‘Make it Feela’ explores the depths of glitched snares and tweaks. The title track ‘Rainfall Down’ is packed with emotion, melancholy bass meets crisp drum and sparkling harmonics. ‘Please Stop’ completes the EP with its rolling bass warps and his trademark vocal edits.

Another standout release from this prolific producer, that might take some by surprise.

Ant TC1 along with Hidden Agenda founded Dispatch Recordings back in 2001, Ant originally helped out with the management side of the label before finding his feet within the realms of production; which was a natural progression for him having DJ’d on pirate radio and in clubs from the age of 14 (since 1992).  His first release alongside frequent production partner Stress Level appeared on Dispatch after almost 3 years of hard work getting their collective sound where they felt it needed to be before even thinking about turning on a DAT recorder.  After their first release hit the stores they quickly picked up a wealth of DJ support across their early material and went on to release for a who’s who list of established Drum & Bass record labels including the likes of Renegade, CIA, Advanced, Critical Records Integral, Liquid V, Commercial Suicide, Good Looking Records, Bingo Beats and Samurai Music.

By demand remix work started to feature heavily within their output and the duo went on to remix for the likes of Hidden Agenda, Chris SU, Artificial Intelligence, Kabuki, Total Science, Optical & Ryme Time (Jagged Edge), Atlantic Connection, Tactile & DJ Marky.  Branching out and working with other producers such as Survival, DLR & Philth has only furthered experience Ant’s skills at the controls over the years, Ant has also released his own solo material more recently on top of remixing for the likes of Lomax on Integral Records.  In 2014 Ant realised a lifetime ambition, securing his first ever release for the legendary Metalheadz label “Hungry For Atmosphere” alongside Mako, DLR & Villem with further releases for the label and counting going into 2024.

Ant’s production output has featured on a mass of compilations and mix CD’s compiled by the likes of Shy FX, LTJ Bukem, Total Science, AI, Spectrasoul, Klute and Brian G.  Additionally his work has featured very heavily within the radio shows of Friction, Grooverider, Fabio, Goldie, Bailey & Rene LaVice on their respective BBC Radio 1 slots over the years as well as BBC 1Xtra where Ant once hosted his own one-off 4 hour show, he has since additionally made 2 guest DJ appearances for DJ Friction on his Radio 1 show.  His DJ’ing work has seen him play all over the globe from Adelaide to Los Angeles, from Hong Kong to Sarajevo, Vancouver to Bangkok and last but by no means least regularly UK and EU wide. Additionally for the most part of the decade beyond 2010 Ant also worked as the Artist Manager for both Outlook and Dimensions Festival in Croatia, leading up the booking process, budgets and travel aspects for the festival.

Fast forward through to 2024; Ant is now responsible for the lead label management roles of both Metalheadz & Dispatch Recordings and is based in Thailand, with a purpose built studio room recently finished the plan (alongside managing a mass of planned record label releases) is to get back to focusing on writing music more consistently than he ever has previously.
