DIS071 Heralds the return of the one and only Halogenix, a personal favourite of all of us here at Dispatch and a producer that has over the last few years made a massive impact as part of the critically acclaimed Ivy Lab.

Halogenix is of course himself a greatly accomplished producer within his own right and here we see him return with four solo outings that illustrate just how on point he is on his own with the issue of an E.P that really highlights his own individual flexibility and versatility across the complete release, each track within its own right showing how confidently Halogenix can stride and transcend the different corners of the genre to deliver stunning results with the finest attention to detail and all hand stamped together with his own unique sound.

The E.P weaves its way through an emotive journey of accomplished musical depth, starting with the emotionally charged vocal of “Take the Lead” ft Zoe Klink, through to the 80’s Chicago-esque tinged vibes of “Each his Own” and then finally rolling out with the chilled blissful finale of “Up & Down”.

Adding to the E.P we have added the instrumental version of “Take the Lead” as a bonus digital exclusive, rounding off what we feel is a bold, diverse, standout E.P from one of the most exciting producers of our genre today

Seattle trio Quadrant, Kid Hops, & Iris deliver two inspired and relentless grooves for Dispatch LTD. These three are on a roll right now, and this release demonstrates exactly why.

“Convergence” samples a recognisable little snippet from one of our all-time favourite ‘60s drums: Jimmy McGriff’s 1968 classic ‘The Worm’. The tight drum loop leads things off with serious intention in what becomes one of the darkest, deepest, most rumbling D&B work-outs we’ve been smacked in the face with for some time! The track’s eerie intro effortlessly drags you into the looming heavyweight drop, and the expertly programmed arrangement provides unrelenting energy throughout. The track blew us away on first listen and was an instant no-questions-asked signing for the label!

“Borealis” flips the script completely in comparison to the A side, and is a much lighter themed affair from this outstanding production trio. Expect a more musical synth-led journey on this one, packed with intricate drum shuffles and shifty bubbling b-lines aplenty. This is D&B as we know it, at it’s finest.

It comes with great excitement that we announce a brand new duo to the world with this debut EP release, it's one that we've been relishing over ahead of the pending arrival date for the past few months. We are pleased to reintroduce Survival & Script to the fold, better known via a collective pairing as SCAR.

Mapping out a blueprint of callous creations with hair-raising atmospherics, we are ready to unveil the very first release from the pair, with their conscription being aptly titled the “Call To Arms EP”. Featuring 4 exclusive tracks, each as destructive as the last, each whipping up crowds into a melee, SCAR debut for the Dispatch camp with real intent.

Gaining strong support from tastemakers such as Goldie, DJ Hype & Doc Scott, the response to their music has been overwhelming so far. With a debuting performance at Fabric in January of this year along with an exclusive mix for the event that has received well over 12,000 plays to date. Furthermore, this all came in advance of them having yet to release a single track.

SCAR are a duo to watch for 2014.

‘No Good’ sees Xtrah fusing his musical leanings with his technical prowess. The intro is awash with atmosphere and much scene setting, eventually giving way to the vocal refrain that sums up the vibe of the track very well - Its about the dark nature of beauty and everything this entails. The track concerns itself with dark atmospheres and soulful tones, showing an unseen maturity to Xtrah’s production.

With two stellar EPs for Dispatch already under his belt, the next release sees the Italian virtuoso Dabs return to the label with “The Constant EP”, featuring two exclusive and original productions, plus another two fresh takes on previous Dabs tracks for Dispatch. 

Kicking off where the last EP left off, Dabs has reworked previous title track “Objection” into a neck snapping menace of a VIP, with bleeps of the original jittering fervently over thumping new low ends. Following this is the next collaboration with Cern, ahead of his own album for Dispatch. With an air of extra-terrestrial isolation to the start, “Alter Ego” showcases the pair’s incredible technical prowess, with a fierce and uncompromising stomper for the dancefloor. 

Cern & Dabs also receive the remix treatment from Villem & Mcleod for their melancholic “Hell Rose” in wonderfully subtle fashion; retaining much of the musicality, with the added warmth of a fresh, pulsating bassline. Closing the EP off with the mystical, yet percussion strewn “I Can Feel”, Dabs completes another very high quality package and one that shows why we continue to release his music here at Dispatch!

Staying true to his name, Stealth has craftily taken centre stage. Every record he's released oozing with sophistication has repeatedly stolen the spotlight. And this next one is no exception.
The production connoisseur yet again goes for the aural jugular, using ProgRAM as a launch pad. Stealth demonstrates the imprint's forward thinking movements and command of a genre which often goes unmatched. The relationship has been harmonious; alongside ProgRAM, he's already made a crater sized impact within the dnb community... And it's not difficult to see why.

'Homage' leads in a tightly fashioned intensity. Dark, brooding and with plucky percussion, it's a tribute to the sound Dillinja mastered. An instantly recognisable vocal sample is filtered through the record's menace, meandering perfectly between the bassline's thumps which eventually drop us into LFO-lead chaos. Piece by piece the main melody begins to build, throbbing until it completely over-takes the record's more humanistic elements. Audibly stocky, yet with a dimension that rings true of Stealth's icy production, it's a relentless roller with a nasty bite.

Next up, 'Smash It' still holds onto the merciless setting of its predecessor, but also offers something completely different. With a bristling rhythm that steps its way into a haunting crescendo, Stealth uses this break to highlight the track's imposing detail; it trickles, floods and then the dam breaks due to the build up's audible weight. Progressing deeper into the mix, the track is underpinned by quaking sub bass. An insistent kick and snap of drums merges against steeply elevating note loops, laying out Stealth's finely combed conundrum of complex yet hard hitting composition. Both 'Homage' and 'Smash It' receive the innovative-stamp of approval, playing on more contemporary elements but also delving deep into the 90s, promising both tracks remain timeless.

Stealth is pushing his influence into every corner, with his late night vibes commanding even the hardest of crowds. So, yet again, it's time to get with the ProgRAM, and succumb to one of the scene's biggest contenders.

Released on August 10th via Viper Recordings comes the second single from The Prototypes hotly anticipated debut LP, ‘City of Gold'.

Fully embracing a summer sound with the A-side ‘Don’t Let Me Go’, the production and DJ duo smoothly combine old school style piano chords, signature energized drums and the pulse-racing vocals of Amy Pearson. Already receiving nationwide radio support, the single package also includes a sultry house remix from the talented Jade Blue and an electro-fuelled "Big Top" dancefloor rework by The Prototypes themselves.

The B-side stays true to The Prototypes heavy hitting, galactic-inspired sound, with the whirring ‘Humanoid’. Exciting and rhythmical use of synth patterns alongside vocal interjections make this the ideal follow up to the hugely popular 'Pale Blue Dot'.

The Prototypes have worked their magic again with this release, combining the euphoric house elements of 'Don’t Let Me Go' with their trademark pumping bass lines and weighty drops in 'Humanoid'. It’s another great prelude to the arrival of their album and will feature heavily on dancefloors across the globe this summer.

Marcus Intalex's favourite new artist of recent times, Phil Tan- gent, returns to Soul:R this month with his second single "Squar- ing the Circle" and "Restitution. His debut, "Billie's Smile / Lunar ", proved a discerning and unique musicality to Tangent's sound and demonstrated a level of musical depth, which is com- fortably at home in the Soul:r camp. SOULR59 will solidify the deserved recognition for Phil Tangent's sound.

When Marcus asked Brazilian producer Bungle to make a tune for Soul:R with no pressure and no limitation he never expected him to come back with what Marcus says is the best Soul:R 12" there has been for a long time. For months now "Astral Travel" and "Aura" have been turning heads in Intalex DJ sets all over the world as soon as they are played, with people rushing to find out what these tunes are. This is the first single from Soul:R for 2013 and it sets the bar high.

Ant TC1 along with Hidden Agenda founded Dispatch Recordings back in 2001, Ant originally helped out with the management side of the label before finding his feet within the realms of production; which was a natural progression for him having DJ’d on pirate radio and in clubs from the age of 14 (since 1992).  His first release alongside frequent production partner Stress Level appeared on Dispatch after almost 3 years of hard work getting their collective sound where they felt it needed to be before even thinking about turning on a DAT recorder.  After their first release hit the stores they quickly picked up a wealth of DJ support across their early material and went on to release for a who’s who list of established Drum & Bass record labels including the likes of Renegade, CIA, Advanced, Critical Records Integral, Liquid V, Commercial Suicide, Good Looking Records, Bingo Beats and Samurai Music.

By demand remix work started to feature heavily within their output and the duo went on to remix for the likes of Hidden Agenda, Chris SU, Artificial Intelligence, Kabuki, Total Science, Optical & Ryme Time (Jagged Edge), Atlantic Connection, Tactile & DJ Marky.  Branching out and working with other producers such as Survival, DLR & Philth has only furthered experience Ant’s skills at the controls over the years, Ant has also released his own solo material more recently on top of remixing for the likes of Lomax on Integral Records.  In 2014 Ant realised a lifetime ambition, securing his first ever release for the legendary Metalheadz label “Hungry For Atmosphere” alongside Mako, DLR & Villem with further releases for the label and counting going into 2024.

Ant’s production output has featured on a mass of compilations and mix CD’s compiled by the likes of Shy FX, LTJ Bukem, Total Science, AI, Spectrasoul, Klute and Brian G.  Additionally his work has featured very heavily within the radio shows of Friction, Grooverider, Fabio, Goldie, Bailey & Rene LaVice on their respective BBC Radio 1 slots over the years as well as BBC 1Xtra where Ant once hosted his own one-off 4 hour show, he has since additionally made 2 guest DJ appearances for DJ Friction on his Radio 1 show.  His DJ’ing work has seen him play all over the globe from Adelaide to Los Angeles, from Hong Kong to Sarajevo, Vancouver to Bangkok and last but by no means least regularly UK and EU wide. Additionally for the most part of the decade beyond 2010 Ant also worked as the Artist Manager for both Outlook and Dimensions Festival in Croatia, leading up the booking process, budgets and travel aspects for the festival.

Fast forward through to 2024; Ant is now responsible for the lead label management roles of both Metalheadz & Dispatch Recordings and is based in Thailand, with a purpose built studio room recently finished the plan (alongside managing a mass of planned record label releases) is to get back to focusing on writing music more consistently than he ever has previously.
