We welcome back Tephra to Dispatch Limited for the Shift EP. Previously known by label fans for his work with long term production partner Arkoze, this release sees Tephra fully explore his own sound as he curates this 5 track EP, packed with his own production and selected guests.

As an aspiring producer Tephra turned to Nick Modern for advice when getting started, so it is fitting that the first track on this release see the two talented producers work with each other as peers, bringing us ‘Side by Side’ featuring the unmistakable vocal talents of Collette Warren.

The EP also features ‘Connection’ a collaboration with close friend Edison, the excellent Melysma Remix of the classic Tephra & Arkoze track ‘Instinct (ft Hillzy)’, and two solo tracks from Tephra – ‘Shift’ and ‘Eerie One’.

Jungle came back in a big way in 2020, largely thanks to the efforts of the likes of Chase & Status and Kings Of The Rollers, and producers everywhere starting scratching their heads to come up with an original take on the genre. Enter Dan aka Halflight, who used to be one half of epic dubstep/drumstep duo Cutline, and his incredible mashup of jungletechno, happy hardcore, rave, drum&bass, and foghorn rollers. “Six Days” is the pinnacle of electronic music production, bouncing the listener back and forth to the past and the future. Forget about the fake drop, this one just keeps dropping. Just when you think the main moment is behind you, there’s another one coming, as the track keeps building and morphing.

Flip to “Take It Low” and witness Halflight demonstrate just how funky minimal, techy drum&bass can be. Twisted frequencies, dark wubs and loads of cheeky little bits are tucked away inside the beats, making sure to keep your head ringing and keep the dancefloor going.

After dropping releases for Viper Recordings, Device and UKF, Halflight now further establishes his reputation as one of the game’s most versatile and expert producers.

We’re proud to bring you our next release from Zero T, returning to the label after 2019’s Dispatch Dubplate 013 and 2018’s Little Pieces LP. 

Zero T's discography reflects the diversity that his DJ sets have always shown, ranging from full vocal smoothness to more rolling, dance floor styles. This release is no exception, with two tracks ‘Hurt Inside’ and ‘Sonic Bionic’ effortlessly demonstrating his range and varied influences.

‘Hurt Inside’ was written with an early 2000's MIST influence. The piano and vocal are the beating heart of this track, setting the mood perfectly. All the other elements have been kept clean and simple so as to not get in their way. 

‘Sonic Bionic’ began with the harp loop, channelling a dark Wu Tang type of vibe. From there the inspiration just flew – a Bristol style, two-tone ascending bass with hip hop vocal samples and scratches combined with a stepping beat. A simple, stripped back groove - one for the DJs.

We welcome back Dub Head to Dispatch with this special 2 track release. Last seen on the label in June 2020 collaborating with Black Barrel for ‘Overclock’ on the Traffic Jam EP, we’re big fans of his usual hard hitting style and unique production flair. 

‘London’ is a bassline led 2 stepper, built around a cheeky vocal sample giving rise to the name of the tune. This one is packed with the kind of raw energy and funk that makes tunes like this stand out. 

‘Spaceship VIP’ is a new version of the lead track from Dub Head’s first appearance on Dispatch Limited way back in 2016. Rolling, layered, drum work and the kind of atmosphere you’d expect to find in a classic sci-fi B movie – a progressive minimal track that balances the upfront ‘London” perfectly.

Ant TC1 along with Hidden Agenda founded Dispatch Recordings back in 2001, Ant originally helped out with the management side of the label before finding his feet within the realms of production; which was a natural progression for him having DJ’d on pirate radio and in clubs from the age of 14 (since 1992).  His first release alongside frequent production partner Stress Level appeared on Dispatch after almost 3 years of hard work getting their collective sound where they felt it needed to be before even thinking about turning on a DAT recorder.  After their first release hit the stores they quickly picked up a wealth of DJ support across their early material and went on to release for a who’s who list of established Drum & Bass record labels including the likes of Renegade, CIA, Advanced, Critical Records Integral, Liquid V, Commercial Suicide, Good Looking Records, Bingo Beats and Samurai Music.

By demand remix work started to feature heavily within their output and the duo went on to remix for the likes of Hidden Agenda, Chris SU, Artificial Intelligence, Kabuki, Total Science, Optical & Ryme Time (Jagged Edge), Atlantic Connection, Tactile & DJ Marky.  Branching out and working with other producers such as Survival, DLR & Philth has only furthered experience Ant’s skills at the controls over the years, Ant has also released his own solo material more recently on top of remixing for the likes of Lomax on Integral Records.  In 2014 Ant realised a lifetime ambition, securing his first ever release for the legendary Metalheadz label “Hungry For Atmosphere” alongside Mako, DLR & Villem with further releases for the label and counting going into 2024.

Ant’s production output has featured on a mass of compilations and mix CD’s compiled by the likes of Shy FX, LTJ Bukem, Total Science, AI, Spectrasoul, Klute and Brian G.  Additionally his work has featured very heavily within the radio shows of Friction, Grooverider, Fabio, Goldie, Bailey & Rene LaVice on their respective BBC Radio 1 slots over the years as well as BBC 1Xtra where Ant once hosted his own one-off 4 hour show, he has since additionally made 2 guest DJ appearances for DJ Friction on his Radio 1 show.  His DJ’ing work has seen him play all over the globe from Adelaide to Los Angeles, from Hong Kong to Sarajevo, Vancouver to Bangkok and last but by no means least regularly UK and EU wide. Additionally for the most part of the decade beyond 2010 Ant also worked as the Artist Manager for both Outlook and Dimensions Festival in Croatia, leading up the booking process, budgets and travel aspects for the festival.

Fast forward through to 2024; Ant is now responsible for the lead label management roles of both Metalheadz & Dispatch Recordings and is based in Thailand, with a purpose built studio room recently finished the plan (alongside managing a mass of planned record label releases) is to get back to focusing on writing music more consistently than he ever has previously.
