The formidable talents of Battery and Philth join forces for the Majesty EP. Over the space of a year and a half, the four tunes that make up this release were produced as part of several sessions at the two Battery studios. Choosing to work together in person, rather than online, the vibe created by these three talented music teachers and producers carries through to the end result. With a hands-on, analogue hardware first approach, they capitalised on these dynamic interactions to keep the energy of each tune flowing. 

Drawing influence from their love of 80's pop, jazz, hip-hop, film soundtracks, classic house & techno, and crunchy jungle breaks, each track in this varied EP was crafted from a fresh palette of samples and sounds in a day and mixed in the next visit. 

The title track 'Majesty' is built from heavily analogue processed breaks, taken from Battery's days signed to Valve recordings - one being Dillinja himself playing his drum kit! Coupled with a tear-out bassline, this one is an absolute monster.

 'Ambra' perfectly captures the emotions of a sunrise at the famous Sun & Bass festival, taking inspiration from now the legendary venue. 

The rolling bassline from 'Poseidon' was played first take; when coupled with jazzy hooks and resampled soundtracks, the vibe created from this initial session inspired the trio to write the whole EP. 

'For Real' is based on a classic house vocal hook and continues this influence with a bassline that builds throughout the tune, combining with hip-hop and funk breaks to create this impressive deep roller.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome the legendary Universal Project to Dispatch for this debut release with us. Initially formed in 2000 as a foursome, Universal Project is now home to the musical output for just one of these producers, Ruxpin. 

Joined by original Universal Project member Geoff Taylor-Karrer for the retro sounds of 'Off The Cuff',  the first of this two-track release results from an impromptu studio session-based reunion. With new inspiration and energy flowing, the old school breaks and vocal samples provided the infectious groove and energy for this track. They originally built the tune around a recording of the pair vocalising the track title. 

'Lost in it' loops and edits the central vocal sample as it develops into a heavy bassline led roller. Written during a difficult time, Ruxpin turned to music as therapy, losing himself in the creative process - the results speak for themselves.

We welcome back Tephra to Dispatch Limited for the Shift EP. Previously known by label fans for his work with long term production partner Arkoze, this release sees Tephra fully explore his own sound as he curates this 5 track EP, packed with his own production and selected guests.

As an aspiring producer Tephra turned to Nick Modern for advice when getting started, so it is fitting that the first track on this release see the two talented producers work with each other as peers, bringing us ‘Side by Side’ featuring the unmistakable vocal talents of Collette Warren.

The EP also features ‘Connection’ a collaboration with close friend Edison, the excellent Melysma Remix of the classic Tephra & Arkoze track ‘Instinct (ft Hillzy)’, and two solo tracks from Tephra – ‘Shift’ and ‘Eerie One’.

Jungle came back in a big way in 2020, largely thanks to the efforts of the likes of Chase & Status and Kings Of The Rollers, and producers everywhere starting scratching their heads to come up with an original take on the genre. Ant TC1 along with Hidden Agenda founded Dispatch Recordings back in 2001, Ant originally helped out with the management side of the label before finding his feet within the realms of production; which was a natural progression for him having DJ’d on pirate radio and in clubs from the age of 14 (since 1992).  His first release alongside frequent production partner Stress Level appeared on Dispatch after almost 3 years of hard work getting their collective sound where they felt it needed to be before even thinking about turning on a DAT recorder.  After their first release hit the stores they quickly picked up a wealth of DJ support across their early material and went on to release for a who’s who list of established Drum & Bass record labels including the likes of Renegade, CIA, Advanced, Critical Records Integral, Liquid V, Commercial Suicide, Good Looking Records, Bingo Beats and Samurai Music.

By demand remix work started to feature heavily within their output and the duo went on to remix for the likes of Hidden Agenda, Chris SU, Artificial Intelligence, Kabuki, Total Science, Optical & Ryme Time (Jagged Edge), Atlantic Connection, Tactile & DJ Marky.  Branching out and working with other producers such as Survival, DLR & Philth has only furthered experience Ant’s skills at the controls over the years, Ant has also released his own solo material more recently on top of remixing for the likes of Lomax on Integral Records.  In 2014 Ant realised a lifetime ambition, securing his first ever release for the legendary Metalheadz label “Hungry For Atmosphere” alongside Mako, DLR & Villem with further releases for the label and counting going into 2024.

Ant’s production output has featured on a mass of compilations and mix CD’s compiled by the likes of Shy FX, LTJ Bukem, Total Science, AI, Spectrasoul, Klute and Brian G.  Additionally his work has featured very heavily within the radio shows of Friction, Grooverider, Fabio, Goldie, Bailey & Rene LaVice on their respective BBC Radio 1 slots over the years as well as BBC 1Xtra where Ant once hosted his own one-off 4 hour show, he has since additionally made 2 guest DJ appearances for DJ Friction on his Radio 1 show.  His DJ’ing work has seen him play all over the globe from Adelaide to Los Angeles, from Hong Kong to Sarajevo, Vancouver to Bangkok and last but by no means least regularly UK and EU wide. Additionally for the most part of the decade beyond 2010 Ant also worked as the Artist Manager for both Outlook and Dimensions Festival in Croatia, leading up the booking process, budgets and travel aspects for the festival.

Fast forward through to 2024; Ant is now responsible for the lead label management roles of both Metalheadz & Dispatch Recordings and is based in Thailand, with a purpose built studio room recently finished the plan (alongside managing a mass of planned record label releases) is to get back to focusing on writing music more consistently than he ever has previously.
