Inner City Dance gladly welcomes upstate New York’s Jungle stalwart Hoogs to the label.  With an extensive DJ history in his home state as one of the main practitioners of the culture, Tom Hoogs brings his impeccable production pedigree to ICD for the first time.

With deep roots in the music, Hoogs sound is equally balanced between heritage and futurism, combining classic Drum & Bass templates with an innovative approach.  Both tracks on his debut encapsulate the smoked out feel of vintage Full Cycle with the bouncy playfulness of Dope Dragon. 

On “Puff Bomb” Hoogs shows his Studio Drum influence even further with layered breaks, familiar vocal snips and an elastic b line completed with classic Krust style squelches and effects. 

Whilst accurately aimed at the dancefloor, Hoogs sense of groove and percussive nuance push his music beyond simple rave fodder and signal him as name to watch for.

Taking influence from both his time in the South West of England and the heavy rolling sound found in Bristol where he now lives, this EP strips back those elements to reveal the roots of his sound.

Next up on the Incurzion Audio release schedule is a massive 4 track EP from Rantik. For those that don't know, Rantik is a seriously talented up-and-coming producer from Newcastle with a strictly deep and technical focus to his productions. "Persona EP" is his latest masterpiece and is a true reflection of his diversity as a producer and the uncompromising quality he strives for.

"Fragment", a fast-paced technical track with continual vocal stabs maintaining the energy, and a drum roll which is unforgiving and really pushes the track forward. Don't be fooled however, the track is not strictly one dimensional as Rantik mixes it up completely on he second drop.

Up next is "Blood Loss" is deep and soulful with a lyrical element perfectly complimenting to the progressive synth heavy sound pervasive throughout the track. Extremely refined, we start strong and it's only up from here.

In contrast to the rest of the EP, "Phase One", a murderous and unapologetic monster of a tune with deep bellowing growls and a sound system testing bass line, overlain with powerful drums and many interesting sound design elements. This EP truly has it all.

To close the EP is "Mirrors" is a much more relaxed number that takes you on an emotional journey. Perfectly crafted, this track is a major compliment to the rest of the release and brings in another dimension that completes the EP.

The illustrious Dayni returns to Drum Army, this time for the second part of his expansive 'Black Rain' LP. Here, the Swiss producer summons a dark, evil take on the Drum & Bass sound, serving up an instantly-effective rolling weapon of the highest calibre. This trend is followed throughout the EP, set against a backdrop of greezy, dance-ready sonics, and 'The Source' perhaps highlights the very best of that. The immensely talented Erritate returns to Echo Chamber with a brand new two-track offering, taking its place as the follow-up to the heavily supported 'Chi', which received widespread club and radio airtime and premiered over on Drum&BassArena. Known for his rupturing, eardrum-blasting break patterns, paired with obliterating, sub-low bass atmospherics, the young don has carved our a real space for himself in the upper echelons of the grassroots, independent Drum & Bass scene. Not content with resting on his laurels, maximum effort is put into distinguishing each release from the other, always bringing a different sound to the table. It's safe to say it's paying off, and that's evidenced in all its glory here. 'The Birdman' is our pick, weaving in cracking vocal sampling with a typically-barbaric Erritate bassline; watch this space.

OTW Premiere: Erritate - The Birdman [Echo Chamber]

Ant TC1 along with Hidden Agenda founded Dispatch Recordings back in 2001, Ant originally helped out with the management side of the label before finding his feet within the realms of production; which was a natural progression for him having DJ’d on pirate radio and in clubs from the age of 14 (since 1992).  His first release alongside frequent production partner Stress Level appeared on Dispatch after almost 3 years of hard work getting their collective sound where they felt it needed to be before even thinking about turning on a DAT recorder.  After their first release hit the stores they quickly picked up a wealth of DJ support across their early material and went on to release for a who’s who list of established Drum & Bass record labels including the likes of Renegade, CIA, Advanced, Critical Records Integral, Liquid V, Commercial Suicide, Good Looking Records, Bingo Beats and Samurai Music.

By demand remix work started to feature heavily within their output and the duo went on to remix for the likes of Hidden Agenda, Chris SU, Artificial Intelligence, Kabuki, Total Science, Optical & Ryme Time (Jagged Edge), Atlantic Connection, Tactile & DJ Marky.  Branching out and working with other producers such as Survival, DLR & Philth has only furthered experience Ant’s skills at the controls over the years, Ant has also released his own solo material more recently on top of remixing for the likes of Lomax on Integral Records.  In 2014 Ant realised a lifetime ambition, securing his first ever release for the legendary Metalheadz label “Hungry For Atmosphere” alongside Mako, DLR & Villem with further releases for the label and counting going into 2024.

Ant’s production output has featured on a mass of compilations and mix CD’s compiled by the likes of Shy FX, LTJ Bukem, Total Science, AI, Spectrasoul, Klute and Brian G.  Additionally his work has featured very heavily within the radio shows of Friction, Grooverider, Fabio, Goldie, Bailey & Rene LaVice on their respective BBC Radio 1 slots over the years as well as BBC 1Xtra where Ant once hosted his own one-off 4 hour show, he has since additionally made 2 guest DJ appearances for DJ Friction on his Radio 1 show.  His DJ’ing work has seen him play all over the globe from Adelaide to Los Angeles, from Hong Kong to Sarajevo, Vancouver to Bangkok and last but by no means least regularly UK and EU wide. Additionally for the most part of the decade beyond 2010 Ant also worked as the Artist Manager for both Outlook and Dimensions Festival in Croatia, leading up the booking process, budgets and travel aspects for the festival.

Fast forward through to 2024; Ant is now responsible for the lead label management roles of both Metalheadz & Dispatch Recordings and is based in Thailand, with a purpose built studio room recently finished the plan (alongside managing a mass of planned record label releases) is to get back to focusing on writing music more consistently than he ever has previously.
