We are very proud and excited to share this special episode of our Podcast Series recorded live by Christian Duka at the lovely SONIC GARDEN gathering that happened at one of London’s most inspiring experimental music venues IKLECTIK last month 🌿

Christian is the founder of immersive art and 3D sound non-profit organisation Amoenus, a sound artist and a long-standing friend of Introspective Electronics. He previously delivered collaborative mixes for our Podcast Series as part of MARMO and Vādin and we are over the moon to finally have him release a solo journey.

In this chapter, Christian merges his signature flavour of psychedelic ambient with atmospheric dub, downtempo and heady leftfield experiments. This journey feels like a night wild with dreams. It’s droney interstellar initiation inconspicuously metamorphosing into sensual dub intertwined with deeply hypnotic wormhole loops and warm, tribal-infused rhythm sections stretching across wide spatial expanses. There is nothing left to do but listen with all your might for those moments of magic that are packed tightly across this sonic canvas ✨🔮✨

This recording was made on the first day of explosive news and lock-down in the Spanish pandemic. The day before I moved to a lonely and really old house on the mountains, and despite the deep social and geographic isolation here, the news and the intimidating atmosphere was arriving from everywhere in all the forms and channels, so dystopian, so scary, so unreal. Alone by decision and with a new kind of  heartbeat that i've never experienced before, sat down to put some music together for my new friends and the experimented ears of the Godmother Radio. Hope it can fill some space of your time at home, crossing the imaginary fields I mixed with tracks by Pepo Galan & David Cordero, Warmth, Docetism, Tarek Soltani, Global Communication, Adhémar, Silentwave, Deru, ataxy, Stigr Asc & Sam KDC and ending on Suicide's track "I remember" that was sounding quite often before all this new world order started. Stay safe, stay creative and stay positive.

Scav (Sofia, Bulgaria) | ‘The waves of Iskar’

We enter the icy but at the same time warm and calm waters of the Iskar River, ready for a proper sailing. The first 1/4 we plow through the (sound) waves and we realize how vital, flexible and millenary the largest entirely Bulgarian river becomes. Foamy waves (subtle noisy soundscapes), tame waves (robotic and metallic textures), calm waves (lovely quiet low groovy textures), and hopeful waves (subtle melodic arp progressions) spilling down the sides of the boat (ears) make that we can move forward with clarity and self- determination. The following 2/4 the river slightly begins to shake causing dark and restless waves (wonderful dark drone perfectly combined with high frequency penetrating sounds) to give truce again and respite to this marvelous journey. 3/4 completed and the beautifulness of the rocky landscapes (soundscapes) are otherworldly. For thousands of years the (sound) waves of Iskar have made their way into the rock, carving out forms of incredible shape and (sound) design, which have impressed every visitor (listener). 4/4 we made it. And you, will you navigate the (sound) waves or will you get caught at the tide? 

*The closing set was recorded in September near the river at the Iskar Gorge, where Balkan Station open air festival took place.

We are really excited to finally share the latest chapter of our introspective podcast courtesy of @dvka and @avsluta channeling their collaborative project @soundofvadin. Recorded in their home studio during a drizzly autumnal evening, the mix is an amalgam of poetic vibrations, avant-garde storytelling and eccentric experimentation imbued with the essence of their upcoming album Tayiō ✨🔮✨

Utterings are buried within and emerging from vivid dreamscapes painted in sound, at the same time luminous and shadowy. Worlds are formed as textures becoming harmonies with temporalities sliced by fluttering punctuations, tangibly present and moving close and closer...

Tayiō is being released via the London-based label @u-t-t-e-r this coming Friday 4th December with beautiful artwork by Marco Maldarella.
