"Lingering Light in Winter’s Embrace" is a chamber composition for eight instruments, deeply rooted in the expressive tradition of the Russian musical school, profoundly inspired by the legacies of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Georgy Sviridov. The piece seeks to capture the ephemeral beauty of memory, weaving an atmosphere of tender melancholy and quiet contemplation, as if illuminated by the delicate glow of a winter landscape.

At its heart lies the theme of nostalgia — a longing for moments lost, expressed through a lyrical dialogue between the strings (first and second violins, viola, cello, and double bass) and the poignant timbre of the winds (flute, oboe, and clarinet). The strings evoke heartfelt emotions, whispering tales of cherished recollections, while the winds add a breath of airy lightness and a subtle shimmer of hope. The double bass provides a resonant foundation, grounding the composition in the timeless embrace of the natural world.

This song was composed in memory of my little girl, who passed away a year ago. It's a tribute filled with love and nostalgia, a musical offering that seeks to embrace her memory. The melody is built on soft melodic pianos and enveloping guitars, accompanied by harmonious synthesizers that create an ethereal atmosphere. The sounds of the sea and the songs of sirens emerge like echoes of the soul, representing a bridge between this world and hers. Each note is a caress, each chord a tear turned into light. It's a farewell that refuses to relent, a whisper to heaven that says, "You'll always be with me."

Picture a cobblestone street drenched under a silver glow, footsteps echoing as violin and piano entwine in a passionate embrace. The sultry melody of the violin weeps with longing, while the cello’s warm timbre pulses like a lover’s steady breath. The piano’s chords glisten — each keystroke a raindrop dancing on your skin.

As the storm intensifies, the quartet’s rhythm tightens: viola strokes snap like lightning, and the cello’s low-register whispers anchor you in a moment of shared vulnerability. There was a lot of emotion in me that needed to come out.  I could either cry or write music.  So I did both - at the same time -  and this was the result.

The second track to be the same length over 9 minutes as a vocal track like this, after Foul-Mouthed Parrot was the first one that was super long.

This thing in my own assessment is strong in the early to middle but cringe at the end  because of Time constraints.  It would get re-takes of all the vocals for the last third at a later time (TBD!), like one of my "Alpha Remaster" type releases.  I juggle a 9-5 job and am not full-time musician and yeah it shows lol.  It should have been either chopped to half length or the entire second half needed more takes landing the vocals on probably different melody notes against the instrumentals.

Oh, and I do all my artwork and designs as well. And as you may notice I regard AI as a friendly helper.
