Vita Nova is the brainchild of LA singer/songwriter VK Lynne and composer/guitarist Federico Salerno in Milan, who are setting out to challenge the conventional ‘band’ paradigm in 2012.

Anyone who’s followed VK Lynne’s musical mischief over the years knows that she is never afraid to approach something in a way that is…unconventional. 

An ocean away, in Milan, Italy- she’s found a kindred spirit. 

Federico “Friedrik” Salerno, of the Italian goth prog metal outfit Deva, met VK through Eve’s Apple (http://www.facebook.com/evesapple). She had co-written a song with Lisa Middlehauve (Ex-Xandria), and he offered to produce it. They recognized almost immediately that they had a shared musical sensibility, and decided to try writing together. Very quickly, songs materialized, and it became clear that a full-length album was being born. 

Musicians from all over the world (The United States, Italy, Germany, France, Greece, to name a few) are coming together, in cyberspace, to record the tracks. Lorenzo Ardoni and Salerno are doing all the engineering and mixing at their SteelNight Studios.

The first single, the eponymous "Vita Nova" made available as a free download on Soundcloud and Reverbnation, has been welcomed and supported by the audience with an impressive amount of comments and shares. 

Vita Nova stands as proof that in this new musical landscape, anything is possible.

“With this project, we’re offering proof that artists from different backgrounds, different genres- even different continents- can and should make music together. Competition and rivalry is rampant in the entertainment business, but once we start working with each other, instead of against each other, creativity can flourish. Add to that creativity an embracing of the changes in the WAY we make music, and a utilization of the technological tools at our disposal…?

The band Nowhere Crowd was founded in 2009 by Silvio Marotta (drums), Francesco Paggin (keyboards), Giovanni Perotto (bass), Mattia Gargiulo and Roberto Dalla Bona (guitars), already active since 2002 in the production of his own music.

“In Nightmares He will come” is the first single, freely inspired by the horror movie “Nightmare on Elm Street”: the song was written, produced and mixed in their own rehearsal room/recording studio in Vicenza. For the voices of the track were called Andrea Castellan and Elena Dalla Pozza, who were also involved in the two following singles: “The best is yet to come” and “Am I still alive?”

For the realization of the videoclip of “In Nightmares He will come,” the band contacted the videomaker Cristian Tomassini, with whom were conceived and produced the script, the set and the filming.

In the summer of 2011, the singer Riky Miolo took part in the song “Am I still alive?” In the same period, the band met the singer Genny Minoliti. Riky and Genny officially become members of the band, collaborating in the arrangement of “Goodbye” and “Faith Factory”.

In January 2012, Giovanni Perotto left the band for important job opportunities: he was replaced by bassist Manuel Pavan.
The recorded material was collected in an EP, while the video of “In Nightmares He will come” was broadcast on digital terrestrial television.
In the period from March to June 2012, the band dedicated itself to making the set and the filming of  ”Goodbye”, directed by Cristian Tomassini.

The followers of Russian symphonic tradition, whose music combines powerful and enchanting mezzo-soprano, complex orchestrations and driving rhythm section, Revontulet is one of the most promising Symphonic Metal bands on the Russian metal scene.
The name "Revontulet" is a Finnish word meaning Northern Lights, literally "Fox Fire". There is a Finnish folk story: a fox in the north runs on the snow and sweeps its tail, so that sparks fly off into the sky. Moreover, in the old Finnish language there is a word resembling to the word "fox", but meaning "to make magic". Thus, Revontulet can be referred to as "Magic Lights" too.
