The Gospel of Jesus Christ never changes so the Christian must have a sure grasp of what the Gospel is and then adapt the presentation of the message and apply it to contemporary ideas. The word ‘apologetics’ is becoming part of Christian language, however, not everyone knows what the term means or from where it comes. It is comes from the Greek word “apologia” which means “to give a defence for an idea or belief”. In this recording, we explain the term and the discipline of apologetics.

What is Truth?

Truth is assumed, expected, and often not defined. Is there a definition for truth and can we know truth? Jesus claimed to be the truth, but what does he mean? In this brief recording we explore the answer to these questions: What is truth? What is true? How do we know it? What does Jesus mean by claiming to be the truth? In this recording, we provide introductory comments on the question of truth.

In pursuit of truth, the question of God’s existence is of first importance. Does God exist? is a
reasonable question. It is by no means a simple question to be answered. We need to
understand how to go about answering this question. In this podcast, we look at where many
people get the answer to the question and what our responsibility is to seek the answer to
provide true answers.

Apologetics is the field of study that seeks to establish why the gospel of Jesus is the true revelation from God. The discipline seeks to present the truth of the gospel to the questions and struggles society grapples with daily.

Apologetics SA strives to lay a solid Biblical and theological foundation in every believer’s life with an in depth study of God’s Word, and then to build on that foundation with further theological and apologetics training on how to effectively present Christianity in a world that has become increasingly hostile to the gospel and to the truth.

The Apologetics SA team has taught many believers to study God’s Word in depth and to assist them as they follow this up with theological degree studies or apologetics training. As former Bible College students, the dedicated team teach, guide, equip and encourage onsite and online students. The online administrative team have been serving online students pastorally for over ten years by encouraging, assisting and praying with them to complete their studies successfully.
