Successful Dutch producers Daniel Leseman & Junktion have always shared the same passion for the deeper side of house music, which undeniably led them to join forces under the alias Fouk and the creation of their Outplay label 8 years ago. The harmonious duo is the result of both a lasting friendship dating back to high school and a strong commitment to jazz, funk and disco vibes from the 70/80s. Like versatile chameleons, they are responsible for some of your favorite productions; from warm deep house to make people comfortable to efficient synth-house dance floor weapons to make people sweat by way of percussive disco stuff to make people smile. Thanks to infectious releases and remixes on first-class labels such as Heist Recordings, Razor-N-Tape or Z Records, their name has quickly been increasingly gaining weight. Whether it is in Europe or across borders, it is safe to say you could regularly find them play on renowned lineups at Glastonbury, LoveBox or Output alongside house specialists like Jamie 3:26, COEO, or Session Victim.

This seamless one-hour mix tells a succinct but a beautiful story; it is a sound walk embracing groovy jazz, powerful disco and mesmeric house thanks to jams from DJ Ciderman, Demuir or Dam Swindle.

wewillalwaysbealovesong has very quietly become a much treasured outlet for classy hosue sounds by those who know. It is the on form Retromigration who steps up now following EPs on Handy and Wolf Music that deserve more attention than they seem to have so far got. He brings his sleek modern deep house style to the fore here with opener 'Secret Of A Pimp' layering up crispy boom-bap house drums with warm, whirring pads and smart vocal sample. The don Jimpster adds his textbook musicality to a fine remix, then 'Flying Lotus' brings a more airy and melodic vibe for outdoor dancing. The Franc Spangler remix is dubby and deep as you like.

We hope you’re sharing our enthusiasm for Milton Jackson finding his creative flow again after several years hiatus. The Scotsman has played a key role in helping shape the sound of the label since his first release on Freerange back in 2006 and we’re proud to continue bringing you his chunky, warm, deep house sounds you know and love!

Here on the Closure EP we’re treated to three tracks of jazz-flecked summery grooves to move to. Kicking off with Need Your Love, Milton teams up with London keys-man and producer Ski Oakenfull for a bouncing piano house track which sounds like Roy Ayers jamming out with Kerri Chandler and Larry Heard over stripped back beats and an infectious bass line.
Next up is Day In, Day Out, just the kind of sun-drenched soulful groove that MJ does to perfection with building strings, euphoric synth stabs and a little vocal hook for that icing on the cake. Wrapping things up in fine style we have the EP title track Closure which pushes the jazz influences to the front, and even adding a touch of gospel flavour in the heartfelt chord progression and organ pads. Crisp, punchy, swinging beats and MAW-style vocal hits keep things rough and ready and before you know it you’ll be bouncing along with a massive grin on your face.

Brucey bonus for the vinyl heads… we’ve added a favourite track of ours from his last digital-only EP to this release. Birdsong is a low-slung tropical delight which is one of those grooves that can’t fail to nice up the dance!

ish compilation series continues. For the second volume, we're going deep! Deep-ish.

Thru out the release history of Local Talk we've always enjoyed the deeper cuts and made sure there's plenty available. There's several that became big and got massive praise, like Atjazz 'Fox Tooth" Atjazz Galaxy Aart Dub..it is timeless, or Northern Reach by Fish Go Deep. That's the type of house music that gets played in submarines. You also have Kindimmer's "Shadow And Construction", a favorite among many fine producers like Disclosure and Juan Atkins to name a few.

There's also a few hidden gems - "Bitter Love" by The True Rebels which is Peter Oakden and our good friend Ricky Reid aka The James L'Estraunge Orchestra and 1/2 of Soul Renehades released many years ago. MVK by Esa & Mervin Granger is a blue print of deep house that has the Prescription sound written all over it. Plus there's plenty more, don't just dip the toe, dive in. Go deep.
