He has done remixes for several artists, including Dezaray Dawn’s “Chameleon”, which was just featured in the Ava Duvernay directed short film entitled “The Door” for Miu Miu. Other remix projects have found him crossing paths with Carlitta Durand (Foreign Exchange, Little Brother) for the "Doug & Patty, Season Two: In Sheckyvison" EP, as well as a remix EP for D.C. songstress Green Tea ("The Crazy Eights"). In 2011, he released his own pet project, "Playin' Favorites", where he skillfully recrafted soulful covers of some of his favorite artists in his own inimitable way. Recently honored as one of ATL’s Ministers Of Sound, he is also a resident of the legendary Godfather party (a James Brown tribute DJ series). Wahine–an award-winning radio show host, music blogger, interviewer, and event producer–has worn many hats since returning to the decks after a 10-year hiatus. Her comeback began with winning the Defected Croatia Mix Contest in 2019, making her international debut at the festival and reigniting her DJ career.

Her appearance at the Defected festival alongside house legends and luminaries propelled her into the spotlight of the international disco and house scene, leading to her current status as a globally celebrated talent. 

She co-hosts Spin City on MyHouseRadio.fm and is a Passion Ibiza Radio resident. She has contributed guest mixes to various platforms including NTS, Mi-House, Sinestesia Ibiza, and Disco Deviance.

Her mashups have charted on Hypeddit, gaining support from radio shows worldwide. She hosts events in Atlanta, including her signature event, Wahine’s Hideaway, featuring international guests like Dicky Trisco, TORIBIO, Fran Deeper and The Funk District.

Wahine has supported renowned artists Crazy P, DJ Sneak, Lego, Nickodemus, Moodena, Richard Earnshaw, Captain Planet, Hotmood, Dicky Trisco, and DJ Disciple at events in Los Angeles, Atlanta, London, and Amsterdam. Her radio show has featured guests such as The Reflex, Aroop Roy, and The Patchouli Brothers.

Described as “Disco in Paradise,” her sound is sundrenched and full of global influences. Funky licks are spiced with percussive jams. Equal parts brains and brawn with every beat telling a story of rhythm and roots.

Cypha House is a musical incubus that serves as a launching point and collective space for local, national, and international musicians. We exist as a medium to uplift the community and, ultimately, humanity through inspirational messaging and music. We assist in the launching of budding careers as well as granting seasoned artists opportunities to explore new possibilities.  We are dedicated to providing high quality artist development, collaboration, and opportunity and essentially, excellent music through recording opportunities and connections, avenues for product distribution, and events. Moreover, Cypha House is passionate about providing a powerful example and pathway to educate and entertain using the creative process to inspire expansion, evolution and elevation in order to consistently catapult to a higher level of consciousness. 

Personal Bio

Once in a while we have the unique opportunity to embrace a purely original artist. Aqeela Reyad, better known as Q, is that opportunity. 
Born and raised in the nation’s capitol (by the way of New York and Miami), Q has been in love with music since her mother introduced her to vinyl albums on easy Saturday mornings. She became engulfed, hypnotized by the sound. 
She realized her musical gift when she joined the elementary school glee club, but truly found her sound in high school while singing hooks for local artists. Here, Q realized the potential and possibility of creating and producing music. She began working with producers exclusively, experimenting and working with her music. 

Atlanta has been the home where Q has made a mark and name for herself. She writes and records her own music. Her album, Ta Heaven, is a compilation of music, which she calls Galactic Soul—a mixture of classic soul and her transcendental sound. Her stage presence and acts have developed after performing at several local spots, such as Apache Café, Pals, The Loft, 529, Erosol Department Store, and Georgia State University.  She has also performed nationally at SXSW in Austin Texas and Miami’s Art Basel, collaborating with artist and producers such as Doctah B Sirius, Jb Methuzulah, Massivelyfe, and Mudnot. 

Along with creating her own music, Q has founded Cypha House, an incubus that provides more artists with agency, launching points, and creative think tanks to produce their work. It’s about more than money.  Q developed Cypha House to uplift the community, to elevate humanity through entertainment, education, and soul-shifting sounds. Not only is she enhancing her own career, she is fostering a space to do the same for a community of high vibrational artists.

Q’s soul has called out for her sound and style, for the perfect fusion, the sweetest harmony; and she is present to provide it.
