Sol Rising crafts alchemical musical journeys one ecstatic beat at a time. His original soundscapes evoke feelings of bliss throughout an eclectic mix of hip-hop, funk, soul, reggae, and electronic dance beats.

Born in Vancouver BC, Brandon began meditating at age four with a walking mantra technique. His mother took him to visit numerous spiritual teachers, who inspired him on the spiritual path he walks today. As a teenager, he became a hip hop fanatic.
His rooted interest in hip hop led him to learning the art of scratching — using turntables as musical instruments. Sol Rising soon became one of America’s top scratch DJs, winning second place at the DMC, the world’s most prestigious DJ competition.

After graduating in the top 5% of his accounting class at University of Iowa, he realized accounting was not his path. A journey to India illuminated his true calling — to light up people’s awareness of their true nature through music. This lead him to study audio engineering and production at Pyramind Studios in San Francisco and produce his first album, "I AM Soul."

Now a successful Producer/DJ, Sol Rising plays major events across the West Coast, including Burning Man, Symbiosis and Lightning in a Bottle. He has opened for major acts such as Beats Antique, and produced official remixes for artists including Jai Uttal, Mochipet, David Starfire, Delhi 2 Dublin, Kirtaniyas, and more. With a fervent following in the Ecstatic Dance scene, he has headlined Ecstatic Dance Retreat Hawaii, and is a fixture at Ecstatic Dances across the country. Sol Rising has been featured in major media outlets including the Washington Post, and his music has been enjoyed by over one million viewers in a viral YouTube video.

TThe coming together of Rebecca Marie Miller and Joy Pearson as Portland, Oregon’s Lenore., was serendipitous, to say the least. After individually hitting rock bottom — Pearson following a divorce and Miller after a period of destitution in LA — the pair separately turned to songwriting in their search for still points in a turning world.

 After many miles and moons spent lending their abilities to other projects, they finally found themselves spinning on the same axis when a chance meeting sparked an immediate connection. A drunken night ensued and before they’d even scoped each other’s material, they'd committed.

 Just three years after that fateful evening and Lenore. can boast having performed at legendary PNW venues including Portland’s Mississippi Studios, Aladdin Theater, and Revolution Hall; as well as Sunset Tavern, Fremont Abbey, and Tractor Tavern in Seattle. They've toured nationwide and have opened for critically acclaimed artists Eric Bachmann, Laura Gibson, Josiah Johnson, and The Mynabirds. They’ve also performed on stage with musical heroes like Chris Funk and Jenny Conlee of The Decemberists and Peter Buck of R.E.M. In August 2018, Lenore. was invited to play Traveler's Rest, a festival curated and headlined by The Decemberists, alongside acts that included Mavis Staples, Death Cab For Cutie, Jeff Tweedy and Tune-Yards. Most notably, in July 2019 Lenore. will make their debut appearance at the iconic Newport Folk Festival, performing on the For Pete’s Sake stage, named in honor of folk hero Pete Seeger.

 Miller and Pearson initially formed Lenore. as a duo, but have long since gained full-time collaborators in seasoned Portland musicians Edward Cameron (classical guitar), Jessie Dettwiler (cello) and Austin Christ (bass and electric guitar). While Miller and Pearson share the songwriting duties, each member of Lenore. contributes significantly to the band’s sound – A dreamy and ever-evolving, melancholic yet hopeful, blend of harmony-driven folk.

 Lenore. released their self-titled debut album produced by John Askew on 9/15/2017. It’s available everywhere you find your music. The band recorded two singles in early 2019 and released the anthemic Thick Skin, Tender Heart in February of the same year. Sirens, a haunting and sweeping follow-up single is expected to release in July 2019.

He's had the opportunity to share stages and support acts such as SKIITOUR, Lazy Syrup Orchstra, Moontricks, Mat the Alien, Mt Doyle, Dunks, Father Funk, WBBL, RUMPUS, Leland River,  and many other of the westcoasts finest.

Recently performing his third vinyl 45 set at Shambhala's legendary Fractal Forest stage for the Sunday afternoon Funk Jam, hosted by the Smalltown DJ's. 

His sets are genre bending and he's notorious for blending in his own unique style.

Always keeping the ear guessing and the dance floor moving hes been gaining notoriety playing gigs all over Vancouver island and beyond.
