G Prajekt is an alias of House music pioneer Radu Sapunarescu, a Dj/Producer with firm roots in the golden era of Romania's DJ scene. 
Radu grew up listening to music since 1974, discovering parent’s reel tapes recorder with jazz, blues, gospel from the 60’s-70’s like, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Diana Ross to name a few, and soon he began making his own record selections. He was drawn towards Soul music, Jazz, Funk, Disco, Gospel, R’n’B and later in the 80’s also to Breakdance, street music and early house. 
In 1990 he started as a DJ on the radio, night long sessions at Fun Radio, then in 1991 on Radio Nova and he started to have first mixes with “early House” like Frankie Knuckels, D-Train, RJS Arrivals, Colonel Abrams, Adeva; The first club residency came in 1992.
In 1995 he sold his car to make a small home studio with 2 turntables (Technics SL1210MK2s) and a Numark mixer and he started to exercise with different scratch techniques and other tricks specific DJ international competitions, then following a series of live events with PRO TV, all summer at the beach in Costinesti '96, and other events in '97 live on tour in the country...
Radu has been an integral part of the Romanian House music scene and has remained so for over 30 years. Whether it be as a DJ, Producer or as a Broadcaster on Fun Radio or Nova, he has surfed the waves of musical trends but always returned to his one true love: Funk, Boogie, Deep Soulful Disco infused House.
Inspired by numerous artists like Joey Negro, Dr. Packer, LNTG, to name a few, his current output centers mainly around a distinct selection of rare Disco/Funk 70's-80’s tracks. His uncanny knack for uncovering forgotten and even ignored pearls is a true trademark today, where his sense for detail and savory style of execution combines to the trades of a true craftsman. 
He is releasing music on his own terms, fueled by his own ambition and free from the chains of other people’s expectations.
The sound is a brilliant mix between fine techniques, deep respect of the originals and real personality. And with their DJ friendly style, these forgotten treasures should quickly find a new life close to modern productions.

An emblematic artist of the Palestinian underground scene, SAMA’ is one of the first DJs and electronic music producers to emerge from the region. Her sound, an original punchy kind of techno, is dry and musical all at once and has quickly made its way across Europe and beyond.
 
SAMA, meaning ‘sky’ in Arabic, started mixing in 2006 in parties around Ramallah, Palestine. Several years later she started producing her own music and expanding her interest in synthesis in 2010, with a focus on techno, house, and other deeper sub-genres of electronic music.
 
The artist graduated from the United Kingdom with a BSc in Audio Engineering and Music Production, then moved to Cairo where she worked as a sound designer for film, became a music producer and then instructor. SAMA’ now runs her own Audio Engineering & Sound Design company working across films and documentaries in the Middle East. In 2017, she was selected as a Laureate by the French Institute, and during that time attended a residency at the International City of Arts in Paris. SAMA’ also runs a publishing company called Awyav, representing independent artists from the Arab world.
 
In late 2018, SAMA’s Boiler Room performance and the associated documentary about the scene in Palestine went viral and more and more people are seeing that music has no boundaries. SAMA’ was recently listed in SheSaid.So’s Alternative Power 100 List, and plays a high-profile set at Ibiza’s World Heritage Site of Dalt Vila for the International Music Summit in late May. She is currently working on a studio album.

 The story of UB40, and how this group of young friends from Birmingham transcended their working-class origins to become the world’s most successful reggae band is not the stuff of fairytales as might be imagined. The group’s led a charmed life in many respects it’s true, but it’s been a long haul since the days they’d meet up in the bars and clubs around Moseley, and some of them had to scrape by on less than £8 a week unemployment benefit. The choice was simple if you’d left school early. You could either work in one of the local factories, like Robin Campbell did, or scuffle along aimlessly whilst waiting for something else to happen.

By the summer of 1978, something else did happen, and the nucleus of UB40 began rehearsing in a local basement. Robin’s younger brother Ali, Earl Falconer, Brian Travers and James Brown all knew each other from Moseley School of Art, whilst Norman Hassan had been a friend of Ali’s since school. Initially, they thought of themselves as a "jazz-dub-reggae" band, but by the time Robin was persuaded to join and they’d recruited Michael Virtue and Astro – who’d learnt his craft with Birmingham sound-system Duke Alloy – the group had already aligned themselves to left-wing political ideals and forged their own identity, separate from the many punk and Two Tone outfits around at that time. The group had nailed their colours to the mast by naming themselves after an unemployment benefit form. Their political convictions hadn’t been gleaned second hand either, but cemented in place whilst attending marches protesting against the National Front, or rallies organised by Rock Against Racism.

By the time Chrissie Hynde invited them to tour with the Pretenders during the summer of 1980 and their debut single "King b/w Food For Thought" had sailed into the UK Top 5, all the essential elements of UB40 were already in place. Their line-up will remain unchanged for almost thirty years, and they will continue playing a mix of original material and inspired choice of reggae covers in a style that’s instantly accessible with its bright melodies and sweeping horn arrangements – one that’s allied to a formidable rhythm section, capable of holding its own with anything from Jamaica.

UB40’s first album was released the following September, on Graduate Records. Their deal allowed them more creative freedom than if they had signed with a major label. The cover artwork memorably duplicated an unemployment benefit card, with the title "Signing Off" rubber-stamped in red, but it was the music that quickly worked its way into the affections of a young, mainly student crowd with its knowing lyrics, solid reggae rhythms and dubby, instrumental passages, offset by warm horn solos and Jamaican style scatting. There was nothing else like it at the time. As a multi-cultural band from Birmingham, UB40 weren’t drawn into trying to sound "authentic," and there was considerably more depth to their music than that of many punk and 2Tone bands. "I’m a British subject, not proud of it, whilst I carry the burden of shame," they sang on one of the tracks. Accepting the truth of their own situation amidst a sea of other reggae songs proclaiming black heritage gave us a valuable insight into where UB40 were coming from. They were unafraid to stand up and be counted, and British audiences instinctively loved them for it. "Signing Off" duly went to No. 2 in the UK and stayed on the nation’s album charts for 72 weeks.

On September 2nd, 2013, UB40 released their latest album ‘Getting Over The Storm’ on Universal/Virgin Records.

Tommy D Funk

Emerging out of the blossoming House / Acid House scene in the late 1980's, early 90's was a DJ destined for a great future. Tommy D Funk took his place as a renowned DJ playing as resident DJ at DRY Bar 201 - the Haçienda's sister bar, before subsequently progressing to take a weekly residency at the Haçienda and going on to international acclaim first Djing in Seoul and on to New York City!

Tommy began his DJ career with a residency in a Manchester pub where he was influenced by the emerging scene that had exploded in Manchester.  Tommy went on to win a DJ competition organised by DRY Bar 201 which helped establish him as a sought after DJ.  Playing deep, funky and soulful US/UK house music, his mixing skills and energy soon galvanized the crowd and Tommy soon found himself gracing the decks of Manchester clubs such as the No1 Club, Sankeys and Home which soon brought him attention from Haçienda influencers such as Angela Matthews, Manager of the Haçienda!  The only way forward was a residency at Faç51.... the Haçienda! 

One of his set was recorded at DRY Bar 201 in 1995.  A superb vocal led House / Garage set with stomping pianos and lush house cords mixed to perfection, a perfect start to a night for clubbers before hitting the Haçienda!  Listening to the mix it is easy to see why Tommy was next to take his place behind the hallowed decks at the Haçienda alongside Graeme Park, Roger Sanchez and Tony Humphries to name a few.

Today Tommy is active on the New York House Scene, regularly playing alongside other great DJ's such as Eric Kupper, Marshall Jefferson, Kerry Chandler, Robert Owens, Lenny Fontana, CJ Mackintosh, Miguel Migs and DJ Disciple amongst many others!  Club credentials include DJing at The Discoteque, Cheetha Club, Cielo, Good Room, Centro-Fly, Highline Ballroom ; along with his own Legendary nights 'Sounds of the Dance Underground'.
