The Golden Bay-via-Berlin producer Ike flexes with the audio equivalent of a freedive into subterranean caves. His new release "Index:007" is a journey through  thrashing breaks and percussive electro due on the label in a couple weeks. It follows other lauded outings on the label, as well as his recent self released "Suite in Lila" EP, and "For Little Limp and Tunnel Vision" for Storage Media.

For the Arcane Patterns episode of August 13 2020, we invited the one and only music producer, composer and musician Andrea Taeggi aka Gondwana @gondwana_andreataeggi (Opal Tapes) for a mind opening guest mix that floats between microtonal compositions, weird sounds and kinetic bass music. Warmed up by some percussive bass treats by @k-lone including two aphtc remixes by himself & Cresc that will be part of an upcoming new 12" on Arcane Patterns.

Curated by Montreal based producer, Jean Grünewald (who goes under the alias ottoman.grüw) and online magazine, Mes Enceintes Font, 'Montreal Dances Across Borders' brings together the best from Montreal's underground dance scene, raising money for good causes and highlighting the principles of solidarity and unity that underpin dance music culture.

Although the compilation is available for free download, MDAB ask for pay-as-you-feel donations, raising money for 'Solidarity Across Borders'. Active since 2003, Solidarity Across Borders are a migrant network based in Montreal. Together they mobilise to support individuals and families who experience unjust treatment within the immigration and refugee system.

We have the first listen on Aquaventure's 'Expanding Uncertainty'; a name that feels particularly poignant. White noise dissonance, watery textures and distorted whispers give way to a punchy arrangement driven by bubbling robotics. A looping simulation of sorts, 'Expanding Uncertainty' is a clear representation of music as an art form.
