To kick off the SYN12 catalog, we’ve brought together 5 exclusive tracks from Northern producers Baccy Beard, Krotone, Ren, Wooda and Yilan.


A short-run of tapes will be pressed with exclusive artwork by Lucas Owen.


The EP aims to set the tone of the label and match the energy of the syn12 nights, keeping a shining light on underground club music .


The opening track ‘Bright Light’ injects a dark dose of swing to the lineup, with a swaggering 808 bounce and shuffle-step drum pattern designed to move crowds. The sultry vocal line and warped bass is fit for any warehouse or club rave, and Krotone carries the momentum throughout.


Yilans contribution is a syncopated lock-step workout of abstract percussion and sound design. The pulsing bass tones and skeletal beat science employed in ‘Vog’allude to the more sinister corners of dubstep and down-tempo electronic beats.


The gritty third track snatches back into a higher speed. ‘Revive’embodies a hectic agglomeration of styles, snagging transecting elements of drum & bass and European techno filled with dark moods, snarling bass and intense rhythms.


Ren brings a 2-step pace to the fourth track ‘Torque’, delivering cybernetic dancehall grooves and tuned resonances with laser-guided automation. The breakdown offers a dark glimpse of euphoria, with a devastating drop and white-hot synth lead.


Closing off the Compilation: Baccy Beard’s uncluttered transmission of rave-hybrid engineering locks into the angular dimensions of electro and grime, with mad flashes of jagged bass and icy synths for good measure.


The state of modern UK Techno is a complex one, but as a collection of tracks Syn12’s first release joins the dots between some of the disparate but contingent dance floor methodologies with and mix of joy and dread. This compilation provides a snapshot to a community of assertive DJs and producers ready to set minds and feet in motion

on their journey into sonic fiction, Arcane Patterns returns with "Ground Poetics". The 4-track remix EP of the label‘s first release „When Grounds Shift“ by aphtc, featuring remixes by NYC based producer Kellen303, Berlin's bass innovator Orson, and AP founders Kl.ne and CRΞSC.

By reconstructing the post-jungle inspired aphtc tracks from 120 to 140 bpm, the artists reinterpret low freq sound system music informed by visceral body politics, a sardonic sense of doom, and post-pandemic futurism.

The 3rd label release is available digital and on vinyl in a limited hand-stamped white label edition.

Following a jaw-dropping LP on Ghostly International in 2018, multifarious rave authority Tadd Mullinix reanimates his hi-tek junglist guise X-Altera for an EP on Sneaker Social Club. It’s a perfect fit between project and label, as Mullinix exercises his fearsome knowledge and grasp of foundational jungle and drum & bass on an imprint with strong form in the field (from seminal Foul Play works reissued to contemporary cut ups by Dead Man’s Chest, Etch and more).

Rather than straight-up revivalist sounds, as X-Altera Mullinix is more concerned with the original pioneering spirit of early jungle, hardcore and 90s techno. He absorbs and channels the sounds and processes of these influences with a razor-sharp attention to detail, but crucially he stitches his tracks together in a truly idiosyncratic way. Far from linear rollers, the pieces on New Harbinger EP play out more like suites that follow unpredictable paths and take in some stunning scenery en route. Doused in Detroit’s hi-tek soul, chiseled with the avant-garde angles of jungle’s breakbeat science and weaving a tangled narrative to rival a sci-fi epic, it’s a divine blend of rugged and raw rave music that can draw you deep inside and take you far away.

X-Altera is but the latest in a long line of crucial projects from Mullinix, who has been transmitting mind-boggling electronics from Ann Arbor since the late 90s. He’s previously delved into the ruffest ragga jungle with Todd Osborn as Soundmurderer & SK1, dropped devastating acid house bombs as James T Cotton (now steered towards a more focused strain of techno as JTC), delved into EBM and industrial as Charles Manier and helped set a blueprint for leftfield hip hop beats as Dabrye. With an unerring quality barometer matched by his studious knowledge and understanding of rave culture, his work is a continuous gift to many different strains of dance music.

In many ways X-Altera feels like the logical summation of all Mullinix’s prior investigations; unrepentantly futuristic music sporting the best qualities of the past, clad in proudly ‘ardcore body armour and thus ticking every box going for Sneaker Social Club.
