J Frisco are an award-winning trio (Jazz North Introduces) featuring soprano saxophone, electric guitar, keyboards and vocals; they created improvised genre-fluid soundscapes that are drawn from their emotions, political, and gender issues. They aim to engage and inspire their audience through cross art forms, taking their listeners on a journey, often described as the ‘J Frisco Experience’.
Performance highlights include a headline show at Vortex Jazz Club, support act for Courtney Pine at Preston Jazz and Improvisation Festival, support act of Roller Trio and Matthew Bourne and a performance at Sofar Sounds. They have performed all over the UK including Gateshead International Jazz Festival and Lancaster Jazz Festival. This year they are set to play Manchester Jazz Festival, support Dinosaur and release their debut album.
They thrive on challenging both their own and their audiences perceptions, pushing each performance to new levels.

Field Music are from Sunderland in the north-east of England. They make experimental pop music. The band is led by brothers Peter and David Brewis. They have released five 'proper' albums under the name Field Music [Field Music (2005), Tones of Town (2007), Field Music (Measure) (2010), Plumb (2012) and Commontime (2016), all through Memphis Industries] as well as Peter's The Week That Was album, David's two records as School of Language, a compilation of early B-sides, a collection of cover versions and a soundtrack to John Grierson's 1929 documentary, Drifters. The Field Music live band currently features Kev Dosdale, Andrew Lowther and Liz Corney. In October 2016, the band played a short run of shows with an expanded line-up. This included the string quartet of Ed Cross, Jo Montgomery, Chrissie Slater and Ele Leckie, saxophonist Pete Fraser, trumpet player Simon Dennis and percussionist Damo Waters. Other musicians who have played in the group on record or onstage include founding member Andrew Moore, Tom English, Ian Black, Peter Gofton and Mark Simms. Plumb was nominated for the 2012 Mercury Prize.

The Long Lonesome Go

In full flight, The Long Lonesome Go draw on influences from Autechre to Alice Coltrane, Talk Talk to Can to conjure a searching brew that leads to continual denials of a secret prog rock ambitions. At their best, this drums/bass/keyboards trio forge an unprecedented link between Artificial Intelligence-era electronica and the questing and grandiose glories of Goblin and Mahavishnu Orchestra.

The LLG rhythm section excited many a Northern stage as two-thirds of the criminally under-heard The Unit Ama, where they honed their extended free-rock chops before taking a line-up diversion and hooking with piano composer and improvisor Paul Taylor. Taylor greatly expands his palette in this setting, and the collective richness of their individual playing – drums forging a connection between Milford Graves and Klaus Dinger, and throbbing, fluid, often dubby and sparse bass vying with Taylor's man-machine smorgasbord – brings some divine evolutions from the minimal to maximal and back.

Caoilfhionn (pronounced Keelin) Rose is a singer, songwriter and producer from Manchester. Emerging from a diverse music scene, she ties together remnants of Manchester’s musical past with its evolving present. She has collaborated with musicians from around the world and is perhaps best known for her work with Vini Reilly of Durutti Column: Collaborating on four songs on The Durutti Column – Chronicle LX:XL album.  

Caoilfhionn’s music draws on a diverse range of influences from The Mummers, to Rachel Sermanni, Melody’s Echo Chamber and Broadcast. She also professes to a love for beautiful, stripped back, piano based music, such as Dustin O’Halloran and Peter Broderick. Vini Reilly from The Durutti Column is a big influence and inspiration as is her immediate environment. With Manchester’s Fletcher Moss Park especially inspiring. Her debut album Awaken was released October 2018 on Gondwana Records. A deeply collaborative recording, co-produced by Matthew Halsall, Caoilfhionn and members of the band it is a rich tapestry that draws on folk, psychedelia and subtle electronica influences to produce something expansive, fragile and experimental.
Part of several collaborations, she featured on The Durutti Column (Vini Reilly)’s 2014 album ‘Chronicle LX:XL’.

An eclectic taste in music, her influences range from The Mummers to Polly Paulusma to Broadcast to Rachel Sermanni, Peter Broderick and many more.
