Field Recordings - 05 Bohemia continues my journey into the depths of soundfields, where natural landscapes and human presence intertwine. This time, I’ve immersed myself in spaces rich with history and atmosphere—capturing the ambient resonance of Prague Castle, the sacred echoes within cathedrals, the intimate stillness of a camp bathroom in Žďár Příhrazy, and the mechanical hum of a pumping station in Přírodní rezervace. Layered with nature’s voicefields alive with insects, rolling thunder, and the rhythm of rain, these recordings tell a story of place, memory, and experience.

Back in my studio, I blended these raw recordings with experimental / musical elements and drones derived from a short organ recording in Kathedrále sv. Petra a Pavla in Brno, weaving together the organic and the composed into a cohesive soundscape, all through the lens of sound art.

"The music and sound experiments picked up the picture. Three-dimensional dots are used in combinations of squares and angles to transform them into sound. Derived from CODEC and DODECAHEDRON, the name is a three-dimensional shape." - CORNER PPL.

a solo project of Thanapat Ogaslert, a sound design enthusiast and DJ.

Thanapat is part of Giga 109, Co-SOLID and Velox. He also collaborated with communities such as MELA, Sathorn SoundSystem, House101 and more.

CORNER PPL - CODEC AHEDRON (pTR Remix)

The fourth episode in the Field Recordings series was recorded in the Balkans in the summer of 2022.

All sounds for this episode are recorded in the versatile fields of Albania, Bosnia, Montenegro and Slovenia. From Sarajevo’s Olympic Bobsleigh to the Cursed Mountains in Albania and back via the small peaceful village Miholjače in Bosnia to the beautiful Kamnik-Savinja Alps in Slovenia. The ambient layers on top are recorded in my studio in Rotterdam.

The colors of the cover artwork are chosen by Rutger Zuydervelt.

Rutger Zuydervelt composes music as Machinefabriek. His music combines elements of ambient, noise, minimalism, drone, field recordings and electro-acoustic experiments. The music can be heard as an attempt to create sonic environments for the listener to dwell in. It can be minimalistic at first glance, but reveals its depth upon closer listening.

For fans of the music that we promote Roel Funcken probably needs little introduction. A legend in his own right with releases dating back more than 23 years on labels such as n5MD, Ad Noiseam, Schematic, Analogical Force and his own imprints. Roel was also the organiser of the Mindcamp events in The Netherlands that featured the best IDM artists and is one of our biggest heroes and a true inspiration.
