Nigm - Soulstorm

A fierce introduction to the world of Oomycota, Confluence is the debut long form release presented by Naarm based bluhol (aka Loïcc).

Building upon bluhol’s debut liveset performed at Minutiae Festival, held on Wiradjuri Land in NSW during the new year cycle 23. Confluence represents a conscious shift in the Australian electronica soundscape, drawing deep inspiration from the vast bush land lining the eastern coast and paying homage to the unique nature and phenomenons that exist there.

bluhol, previously producing under Loïcc, is a sound artist based in Naarm, who’s roots are firmly planted in the Northern Tablelands of NSW. They intricately weave together the organic and synthetic, exploring the juxtaposition of nature’s fluidity with the structured rigidity of urban landscapes. With a keen focus on technical sound design and modular synthesis, bluhol crafts immersive auditory experiences that transport listeners into realms both melancholic and unsettling. Their compositions serve as a medium for contemplation, inviting audiences to reflect on the interplay between their past and future selves.

'Coalescence' is a collaborative VA between @meganesia and @nobordersmusic, out October 10. Its release comes with two launch parties, at Naarm's @misctapes on November 8, & a TBA Eora location on November 15.

@nobordersmusic is a Berlin based collective run by dj and producer @shaven00. Since launching in 2020 with a focus on emerging talent and sound the collective has platformed numerous releases, a highly regarded mix series and events locally in Berlin.

Drawing its name from the continental plate which sits under Australia's landmass, @meganesia is an Australian label which focuses on supporting and exporting the local scene of artists here who champion high energy sounds in the realms of techno, trance, psy and tek. 

"For 18 months this collaboration has grown from a shared interest and ethos between the two label owners which has grown into a friendship and now into a project. Together we have created and curated something that highlights the shared ethos and sonic similarities between our labels and communities."

This is my remix for petrol contest by Manu Kenton in 2024

The story:
Yazzanovitch, a cosmonaut from the planet SkØrzik, navigates the vastness of space aboard his spaceship, Kentonik. Running low on fuel, he decides to land on a mysterious planet permeated by a mystical rumble of infrasound. He follows these waves, which lead him to a pyramid located in the middle of a crater of molten oil. There, he discovers, to his astonishment, numerous creatures writhing in every direction to the rhythm of the deafening rumble. The intoxicating fumes cause him to lose his mind, and in a cosmic whirlwind, he awakens in his spaceship, en route to an unknown destination, his tanks full and his ears saturated with infrasound. Bon voyage!

L'histoire :
Yazzanovitch, Cosmonaute de la planète SkØrzik navigue dans l'immensité de l'espace a bord de son vaisseau Kentonik 
A court de carburant, il décide d'atterrir sur une planète mystérieuse imprégnée d'un grondement d'infrabasses mystiques...
Il décide de suivre ces ondes qui le mènent jusqu'à une pyramide se trouvant au milieu d'un cratère de pétrole en fusion.
Là il découvre avec stupeur de nombreuses créatures s'agitant dans tous les sens aux rythmes du grondement assourdissant...
Les vapeurs enivrantes lui feront perdre la raison et dans un tourbillon cosmique, il se réveillera dans son vaisseau en route vers une destination inconnue, les réservoirs pleins et les oreilles saturées d'infrabasses.
