Gus F is a musician, producer and DJ based on the beautiful island of Jersey. Gus won the global Sasha / Last Night On Earth DJing competition with a popular breaks mix just before the Covid pandemic sent the world into lockdown. He has been busy with productions, mixes and events since; dreaming up and broadcasting Secret Sunset to showcase new music at iconic locations around the beautiful island of Jersey and producing popular bootleg remixes from the likes of Kate Bush, London Grammar and Billie Eilish. Gus's first signed remix reached #1 on Beatport in the Electronica genre; a deep house version of Darkersound's "Through The Night" on Stripped Recordings. A number of other remixes were signed to Emotional Content and Music To Die For in late 2021. A massive remix of Bronski Beat's iconic Smalltown Boy was finally released in summer 2022 with Jimmy Somerville's blessing, almost 2 years and 1 million streams after a bootleg version was first aired at Secret Sunset.

Víctor López Alonso a.k.a. Vla DSound is a spanish producer born in Talavera de la Reina (Spain). After many years as a DJ, and a short period in 2008 as resident DJ in the club “AQA” playing with great artists like Ramón Argudo, Oscar L, and Javi Reina he began to produce his music and to sign contracts with labels from around the world. At present, he is the co-owner of YPQN Records and he works with great labels such as Mystic Carousel Records, Pleasure Records, Majestic Family Records, OLD SQL Recordings, Green Snake Records, and Pitch Music Publishing.

2020 was a chaotic year for planet earth; from the devastating Australian wildfires to Brexit to Covid-19, a global pandemic that put a sudden end to any traditional music and entertainment events with physical distance restrictions imposed around the world. No more concerts, clubs, beach parties or even gatherings in person.

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, live streaming exploded. A form of musical expression and social connection over the internet with broadcasts by musicians, DJ's and producers around the world. From global icons streaming from their kitchens, gardens, bunkers and even baths (we're looking at you Binary Finary) with audiences of tens of thousands (Gracias Hernan!) to local DJs playing for handfuls of friends, connecting music lovers in a new way, providing positive experiences to help everybody through uncertain times and building new communities. The technical challenges were not insignificant; platform copyright algorithms, optimising audio and video codecs, virtual audio routing and internet connectivity caused many hiccups along the way, but also gave rise to heroes like SUAT wandering around like a 21st century one man mobile disco encouraging everybody to dance (we salute you Sir!)

With travel restrictions in place, there were no pilgrimages to Café del Mar or Café Mambo, Benirras or Pikes on the white isle of Ibiza. Music lovers forced into isolation for long periods instead.

Secret Sunset was created by Gus F on the beautiful island of Jersey to share something a bit different, for those still under quarantine, for those who mourned for Ibiza, for those who love magical moments at sunset (and maybe the occasional sunrise) in beautiful locations on this incredible island.

Sound Intentions followed soon after; an outlet to release music that had been produced especially for those magical Secret Sunset events.
