"Sanguine" is a collection of three miniatures inspired by Hildegard von Bingen’s "O Rubor Sanguinis." Hildegard always fascinates me with not only her beautiful music but also the powerful images in her texts. In Sanguine, I stayed away from any explicit musical references to "O Rubor Sanguinis." Instead, I have tried to recreate a musical interpretation of the text which, of course, is very different from Hildegard’s version.
Movement one sets out a flowing and transparent texture depicted in the first two lines of the text. Movement two is about the darkness, chaos, and intensity of “winter with serpent’s blast.” In movement three, a delicate and fragile soundscape is restored to create an ethereal and other-worldly mood.

"O bloody red
that flowed from up that height
divinity has touched: a bloom you are
that winter with the serpent’s blast
has never marred."

Carbon is the chapter that brings the elements together. We hear echoes and fragments, expanded upon from Cerium, where Levi first dreamt of writing the story of Carbon, Nickel, the hell which carbon is first trapped in, Argon, the gas which Carbon floats through the breeze in, Nitrogen, as it bonds with organic material, Hydrogen and Phosphorus in the process of photosynthesis. This passage of time repeats as the Carbon continues its journey until landing upon Chromium, where Levi first starting upon his path of being a writer. As the Carbon molecule journeys onwards, so too does Levi into the new chapter of his life.

This ‘Female Vocalists from Iran’ show, the 'Mey, Gher o Beshkan' mix, draws from a genre of modern Iranian music often referred to as ‘kooche-bazari’, which is roughly translated as ‘street and bazaar music’, also generally known to be the music of the people. 

This style of music is identified as evoking dance with the goblet drum, ‘zarb’, as a dominant sound-feature supporting the rhythmic movements of a ‘raqqas’ (dancer) performing the ‘gher’. In modern day Iran, ‘gher’ was known to be a solo style of dancing with an improvisational nature, shimmy-like movements of the shoulder, and a free flow rotation of the hips, with the latter having both a sexual and comedic effect. Often performed in a so-called cabaret space, which allowed for a direct performer-audience relationship with audiences uttering verbal reactions, a female performer enacted an unrestrained sexual character, geared towards the male gaze. The performers' movements were often accompanied by occasional intricate and sophisticated snapping of the fingers (beshkan).

The songs selected for this show range from having a 6/8 signature (upbeat) and slower melodies, explicit lyrics about drinking alcohol (mey), being drunk or wanting to get drunk, explicit sexual content, and failing at romantic relationships.  Vocalists include Roohparvar, Firoozeh, Afat, Susan, Gita and Ramesh amongst others.

He studied contemporary composition at Sibelius Academy of Music in Finland, University of Gothenburg (Academy of Music and Drama) in Sweden, UDK University of Arts in Berlin, Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, and Tbilisi State Music Conservatory under the supervision of Helena Tulve, Malin Bång, Manolis Vlitakis, Marc Sabat, Ole Lutzüow Holm and etc. He is a current Ph.D. candidate at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece under the supervision of Prof. Dimitri Papageorgiou and Prof. Caspar Johannes Walter (University of Sciences and Arts in Basel) in Composition.
He is one of the finalists of the Jonathan Harvey Scholarship 2020 at Huddersfield University.
Samsaminia has had the collaborations with the well-known Ensembles such as the  Klangforum Wien Ensemble, Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Garage, Stockholm Saxophone Quartet, Trio Saeitenwind, Ljubljana Contemporary Chamber Orchestra, KLART Ensemble, EMTA Tallinn Sinfonietta, HSM Symphonic and Opera Orchestra Gothenburg, Hanatsu Miroir Strasbourg, Łódź Academy Symphonic Orchestra,  GEPO Unesco orchestra in Paris, Sepia Ensemble Poland, Tbilisi Contemporary Ensemble, Omnibus contemporary Ensemble and etc. 
His compositions have been selected and performed in numerous festivals such as Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival 2020, Gaudeamus 2018 Netherlands, Sound and Images New York (Eastman Audio Research Project Concert), Ticino Musica 2019 Switzerland, OutHear 2019 Greece, Poznań Contemporary Music Festival Poland, Mixtur Barcelona, UNM Nordisk Iceland, Sound of Stockholm, Tehran contemporary music festival, Eufonija Festival in Serbia, Lerici Music Festival “Suoni Dal Golfo” Italy, and Siren Festival Gothenburg, Sweden and etc.
He attended in Masterclasses held by Tristan Murail, Georg Friedrich Haas, Oscar Bianchi, Dimitri Kourldianski, Rebecca Saunders, Karlheinz Essl, Pierluigi Billone ,Georg Hajdu ,Alexander Schubert, John Chowning, José María Sánchez-Verdú, Mauro Montalbetti, Klaus Lang, Dror Feiler, Michael Finnissy, Simon Steen-Andersen and etc. 
His music has been performed in Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Greece, Poland, Iceland, USA, Italy, Slovenia, Finland, Sweden, Spain, Denmark, Serbia, Georgia, France, Armenia, Uzbekistan, and Iran.
