Yukari Okamura, is an artist who specialises in a gentle and forgiving sound.

Her productions are a unique fusion of euphoric and psychedelic techno, distinctive with her captivating and attentive sound design. They can be heard on releases on Circular Limited, OVUNQVE, Occultech Recording, Aparat Rec, and Oslated.

Sharing the same characteristics as her productions, her live DJ sets delve deeper into the psychedelic dimension of techno, leading the dancefloor to a state of euphoria, through her precise, deliberate control over sound and energy.

Her approach stimulates both the mind and body, bringing out strong emotional energies.

Berlin based Vicky Zissou favours the deep and rhythmic side of techno, which is stimulating the mind + body and catching the soul. Tribalistic and deep sounds are quintessential in Vicky Zissou’s organic crafted sets.

Her dark-layered hypnotic techno comes with electric intensity, a shimmer of light + ease, and a drop of emotion. The accents are floating between atmospheric, dubby, acid, downtempo/experimental, and raw industrial vibrations. The distinct character of her sets combined to the latest released tracks and collaborations, got her recognition, attention, and gigs outside of Sweden.

Originally from Berlin, Vicky Zissou has become an essential part of the Swedish Techno Underground Scene. She played alongside many of the local scene’s originators and influential artists. Like Abdulla Rashim, Dorisburg, Evigt Mörker, Sebastian Mullaert, Fjäder a.m.

Together with producer Hampus Bogren, they form the duo Matilda. Matilda, in its complexity, is a genderless project, challenging people’s preconceptions + mental images. Modular synthesizers, atmospheric/experimental sounds and driven rhythmic percussion mark their sound.

The next “Circulating Waves” chapter is opened by an artist that we deeply admire for her true musical poetry: Polygonia.

Before getting involved with electronic music, the munich-based artist was trained in several acoustic instruments, as well as other artforms. It were the endless possibilities of modern producing, that inspired her to translate her long developed understanding of rhythm, composition and experimentalism into the digital music language. 
Over the years she shaped her own distinct sound identity, which is nothing short of unique in its blend of mystical and deep electronic vibes with more organic sounds, often enriched by acoustic components. Her creations which can vary from ambient over downtempo to hypnotic techno are released on Lowless, Alexandar, Kvltö, Phono Tropismi, her own label IO and with us as Charybdis.

This mix clearly reflects her huge understanding of music and her eclectic approach: It playful oscillates between dreamy realms with haunting melodies and versatile rhythms and more heavy, dancefloor oriented parts, never losing its unerringly hypnotic drive and focus, which will introduce you to new outskirts of the vortex!

Kontinum [Nebula | Leipzig]

Initially inspired by the subcultural scene of his hometown of Lübeck, the young artist was strongly influenced by the predominant sound of the Leipzig techno scene. Especially the infamous Institut fuer Zukunft and its hypnotic and dissociative sound significantly formed his distinctive style and quickly paved his way into the local scene.
In 2017 Kontinum co-founded the project @nebulakollektiv and, after organising their first raves, the collective quickly found its way into Leipzig's club scene and managed to establish its own event series at Institut fuer Zukunft.
In addition to managing most of Nebula's musical affairs, Kontinum continues to steadily enhance his own remarkable sound which can already be listened to on his releases on labels such as The Gods Planet, Lowless, Fur:ther Sessions and Agos.

The DJ and producer with a background in sound engineering has continued to sharpen and refine his own style over the years. He has rightly been recognized worldwide for this and booked into the most relevant clubs and festivals in the world.

We are happy to have him on the Benzin Vol. 1 record as well as welcome him to ://about blank on Feb 25, where he will close the MDF floor with his distinctive sound.

And if that wasn't enough, he's recorded the second Benzin podcast for us, which will air exclusively on Radio Fratz on 17th of February 2023.

We’re beyond excited to be welcoming the sensational Hydrangea to Corsica Studios on 21st July, an incredible DJ and producer based in France but making beautiful, earthly ripples on the deep and atmospheric techno realms around the world; her personal ethos which can be felt throughout her music being: “Look deeper into nature and you will understand everything better.” We couldn’t agree more.

To immerse yourself in the sounds of Hydrangea is to immerse yourself in nature itself and with the attention given to her music - both productions and mixes - comes a very natural state of inner peace, acceptance and hopefulness. Spiritual techno, we like to call it, infused with atmospheric soundscapes and often deep, rolling, dub-like grooves grounding you like the roots of a tree. Pay a visit to Annulled Music and Natch Records to delve through her multiple releases, or of course settle into this very beautiful podcast recorded just for On the 5th Day to hear what we mean.

Hydrangea’s deep, contemplative sound, her talent for storytelling and the solidarity of her vision which radiates through everything that she does makes her a perfect artist for an On the 5th Day techno tale, and it was just a case of waiting for the perfect opportunity to lock her in. Svreca, who will make his second On the 5th Day residency appearance on the 21st of this month, shares the same sentiment when it comes to Hydrangea, which is why together we wholeheartedly agreed she belonged on this line up; and is also why her music has found itself on the Semantica label. We know Svreca is thrilled to be sharing a line up with her, and to be seeing her making her London debut.

As if her musical talents weren’t enough, Hydrangea is also a photographer and graphic designer, producing the visual work for the Inveins podcast series which captures the beauty of nature in its trust essence, as well as working on artwork for multiple releases and projects. On The 5th Day Podcast #061 - Hydrangea

Informa Records boss Deepbass showcases the rolling, thunderous techno soundscapes he is known for world over in this week's edition of Global Vibe Radio.

Whether doused in the grit of his hometown Glasgow, or expanded by the widescreen vistas of his current base, Barcelona, the music of Darren Roberts has asserted its uniqueness within his preferred form of expression, rolling and tunneling techno, strong on propulsion and atmosphere. Naming the project Deepbass was a strong statement of intent and commitment to a sound of his own, from the start. That he has in fact established it and remains on a path of constant perfection of it, is indicative of Darren's personality and talent.

This consistent path has seen Deepbass put out records on labels such as Edit Select Records, Aconito Records, Dynamic Reflection and Soma, all the while enjoying a steady rise in recognition both with audience and peers. Along the way, he found in Italian producer Andrea Deplano, most widely known as Ness, a perfect foil for his vision of techno, with both collaborating on releases which displayed uncanny compatibility in sound between them. This commitment to the deeper, hypnotic side of techno is further proved by his own label, Informa Records, where releases by names like Reggy Van Oers, nAX_Acid, Claudio PRC, Takaaki Itoh, Ness, NX1, Hironori Takahashi are constant highlights for those who crave expansive and engrossing soundscapes.

What stands out from his production and performances is that Deepbass creates something identifiably his own, but refuses to ever be limited by it or to get comfortable repeating just one thing. Instead, he takes what´s already his own and streamlines it, sharpens it and nuances it. The origin and destination might be constant, but the path it takes and how the journey feels is ever-changing.

Global Vibe Radio 209 Feat. Deepbass (Informa Records)

Art Bei Ton is an artistic project focusing on merging electronic music and visual arts, though the promotion of events, podcast series and a label.  

Organizing events in Berlin and Europe, our goal is to create some immersive experiences, offering Hypnotic Techno/Ambient DJ sets and live acts, together with VJing, art exhibition, interactive audio-visual installations, performances, panels and workshops.  

Curating international artists, we want to embrace more inclusivity in the scene through the promotion of diverse and gender-balanced line ups. It is important for us to highlight female artists, queer actors of our community and fight together against all kinds of discrimination.
