KONCEPT Podcast: 021 - AKĀSHIC MACHINE

From the primeval waters to the implosion, the essence of KĀ pervades as an entity of embodied duality. Through alchemical experiments that merge polarities and fuse modalities - The sound “KĀ” echoes cosmic darkness, drenched in dense ambient waters, shaken by cataclysmic pulsations and interstellar vibrations. By creating an archetype to serve as a deviation from genre defined techno, KĀ whips up a relentless hypnotic concoction of deep techno infused with intention and sonic medicine. Following their recent EP release AKĀSHIC MACHINE, an extension of KĀ has been un/leashed like an autonomous machine. The creation of the project serves to open a portal into a distorted realm of frequency - an exuberant release of the past into the present, shedding emotion and shifting through tempo and resonance. KĀ has been nurtured by a multiverse of creative projects and landscapes of divination - the early seeds were sewn in the foundations of the techno community, drawing inspiration from the nature of the dance floor and how it can serve as an evanescent container for collective consciousness. 



“Traveling constantly with the deep desire to explore music and subculture served as a pathway for me to physically tune in to a vastness of sonic experiences. From the South African festival scene to New York noise, to Berlin techno institutions and beyond - constant reinvention and rediscovery led to feeling sound and presence deeply and noticing how it was constantly moving and shifting my body through time. Existing in gratitude for dance music as I grow with it, surrendering to innate and intuitive responses and impulses that draw me to experience the sound that I desire - IS the core of my mixing style and selection choice. Berlin has definitely pushed me to push the tempo, in a way that’s moved me out of my comfort zone and our intimate scene in South Africa. I disregard fitting into a specific mold with my sound, because I embody the dark and the light, the earth and the ether, serenity and chaos. I have come to accept being present within polarity, simply observing the oscillation. “

Dycide is a Deep-Techno and Drum and Bass producer/DJ based in Munich, Germany. He produces electronic music, which is best described as intricate rhythms combining various percussive textures while keeping a subtle atmosphere. This creates a very minimalistic sound without losing the importance of storytelling. While his other passion, the art of programming, lets him experiment with generative art, both in visual and auditory work. In 2018 Dycide co-founded the audiovisual label IO together with his close friends MTRL & Polygonia. The label already counts many successful releases and has gained a deep following over the years.

Our next artist is originally from Brazil, he begab his journey among the underground clubs and obscure after-parties –  eventually moved to London, building upon a relentless passion for vinyl and further taking a leap into the world of production. He has been featured on imprints such as @affin, @circularlimited and @kvlto-records and many others. His distinct sound has taken shape over the years, intoxicating listeners through hypnotizing rhythm and cerebral loops. We are honored to have @caueborba complete our roster this year.

It’s with utmost pleasure we’re buckling up 2022 and shooting straight into 2023 with a powerful, atmospheric set thanks to Alexskyspirit’s contribution. Please make a due welcome to the greek (borned/raised in Patras) producer/Dj, also co-owner of the young @Khoros-label.

Alexskyspirit delivers a mix built on deep/dark bits together with newer tracks as well as exclusive, unreleased material. The result is ...moody AF, oscillating between a well-known dark-building-block (LN or Berlin-like), as much it kicks you into the midst of a white, powdery snowy mountainscape under starry Nightskies. It's the contrast, the thumping-red-thread (sometimes almost gloomy) that reveals Alexskyspirit's peculiarity. The journey embarks us in memories of both sweaty crowds, strobes and hypnotic states, somewhere between reality and dreams. Respites are given to calm the mind before kicks & basslines bring you right back in line. Cinematographic, ravey, a sense of mystery mixed are all in favor of a cathartic trip. Odd Hills is a Lithuanian born, London based techno DJ, co-founder of Temple.Recordings and event series Temple.Invites.
His love for electronic music began from a young age, but it wasn’t until he emigrated to the UK that he identified his true sound and style. Incorporating dark and melodic elements with experimental sounds, his unique style truly takes listeners on a mesmerising journey. His hard work and dedication to the scene has led him to play across a range of clubs in London, as well as in Glasgow and Vilnius.

The lack of physical events across the past few years has led to increased focus on the Temple.Prayer podcast series, which features a broad spectrum of techno styles, allowing up and coming DJs a chance to showcase their work, alongside international heavy-hitters.

His work has helped to develop and redefine what it means to work with electronic music in the 21st century: although his sounds are thoroughly modern, synthesized and clearly represented, his production continues to nurture the deep roots of lore and lost mythology that have sustained human creativity for millennia.

With his personal record label, Outis, Sabatini continually goes beyond expectations by bringing his senses back to this world of automation and machines.
It has also been a major element on labels such as Stroboscopic Artefacts, Elettronica Romana (home to several releases by his 'Modern Heads' duo with Gianluca Meloni), Adam X's Sonic Groove, Prologue or NODE Recordings participating in the label's first release.

Sabatini's search for a world without self-imposed creative limitations has earned him an impressive number of partnerships with productions and remixes involving artists such as Donato Dozzy, Claudio PRC, Giorgio Gigli, Shapednoise, Luigi Tozzi, Edit Select or Teste.

Our next artist was born and raised between the fantastic mountain valleys of the Italian Dolomites and the industrial city of Ludwigshafen in Germany. Spent most of his childhood playing in the woods. This past still connects him inseparably from nature and its forms of life. He tries to convey this feeling of the infinite timelessness of the soul of nature with music in an understandable language.

His DJ sets are always driving, ritualistic. Natural sounds and hypnotic melodies allow the listener to reach another state of consciousness. He has been featured on @cellar-door-hypnosis, @iorecs, @visionsofhiira just to name a few.

Stoked to welcome and celebrate this Summer's Solstice with the excellent DJ/Producer from Seoul (Korea) UNJIN, also known as Rainjacket, his other alias as an imaginative abstract ambient project.

Unjin's reputation for pushing musical boundaries began back in the mid 90’s as one of Korea's first underground indie musicians, in Seoul's relatively young underground music scene, grew through his imaginative live ambient solo project Rainjacket, and continues to develop in exciting new directions as an independent producer and DJ on the international stage.

Unjin's international debut as a DJ came with Miami WMC 2010 as Korea’s best electronic musician. Since then Unjin is fast becoming known in Asian techno circles as one of top producers and DJs to watch and has recently moved to Berlin to further satisfy his ambitions regarding his musical art. 

Unjin is the founder of Korea’s first techno label 'ECI Korea' , a platform to expose emerging domestic and international talents to the world stage, and also as composer and producer, Unjin has played a key role in laying the foundation for a Korean techno culture.

We let you dive into his beautiful work & selection with a slick, rounded progression showcasing just the perfect balance between introspective, intricate percussive sounds and more extroverted accents. All converging with perfect harmony as a treat for the ears, thereby celebrating Summer's solstice in lush style.

Art Bei Ton is an artistic project focusing on merging electronic music and visual arts, though the promotion of events, podcast series and a label.  

Organizing events in Berlin and Europe, our goal is to create some immersive experiences, offering Hypnotic Techno/Ambient DJ sets and live acts, together with VJing, art exhibition, interactive audio-visual installations, performances, panels and workshops.  

Curating international artists, we want to embrace more inclusivity in the scene through the promotion of diverse and gender-balanced line ups. It is important for us to highlight female artists, queer actors of our community and fight together against all kinds of discrimination.
