This September will see the launch of the Benthic imprint with the ‘Assurance’ EP by Tbilisi, Georgia based artist Lucid Void (Arts Gallery).

Benthic is a new imprint coming out Istanbul, Turkey and aesthetically leaning towards deep, dubby and ambient Techno sonically with its releases. Here to inaugurate the launch of the imprint, Georgia’s Lucid Void offers up four originals of hazy, nuanced deep techno.

Leading the release is ‘Envision’, laid out across five and a half minutes with bubbling percussive delays and broken drums alongside menacing bass swells and hypnotic chants. Title-track ‘Assurance’ follows next, shifting focus to robust 4/4 drums rhythmically while stirring in an amalgamation of cinematic synth textures and choppy bass stabs.

Following to kick-start the flip side is ‘Objection’, bringing a circling, dynamic and gritty bass lead to the forefront while resonant, modulating synths and tension building strings ebb and flow atop a dynamic drum groove. ‘Dogma’ then rounds out the release on a darker tip, bringing grinding bass tones, distorted rhythms and glass like chimes into the limelight.

Deranged is a new and upcoming Lithuanian artist in the London scene. Over the past few years, he has been carefully studying his influences and crafting his style. Rolling and groovy basslines, sinister and hypnotic rhythms, minimalistic yet powerful percussions are the distinctive details in his sound. Effectively blending both old school and new, the aim is to keep the listener locked in the groove the whole time.
Frustrated with the lack of hypnotic and groovy music in London, he decided to launch his project @insignia.london. It is a new collective and event series, showcasing the best local talent in this specific genre of techno. Few first outdoor events have already seen massive success. You will see more of Deranged, as well as his event very soon.
