Hailing from Vilnius, Lithuania, Arnas’ passage into underground music was built upon his formative time spent on London’s dancefloors where he now resides. Drawing inspiration from a childhood background in jazz, his work navigates a mixture of personal influences with clean, low-end grooves, off-beat rhythms, moody and mental melodies and layered hi-hats to craft effective dancefloor experiences: directed by ethereal atmospheres and driving rhythms. Arnas’ sound is most inspired by the marathon sets from masters of the craft such as DVS1, Takaaki Itoh and Peter Van Hoesen, as well as the new breed of fast and groovy techno that has been making waves in the scene recently.

It’s been a while since one of our own sets has been uploaded and with clubs being shut for over 6 months now and unfortunately looking like they may not be open until Easter 2021 at the earliest in the UK, we have decided to compile a 60 track, 2 hour 20 minute techno extravaganza for our 40th episode, to bring back some of those dance floor memories - showcasing a diverse selection of styles, including many groovy, hypnotic and dubby sounds from some of our favourite artists - at a tempo designed to keep you locked in perpetual motion straight out the gate!

In 2018. he started to perform under Vakat.
First Vakat music (Siren EP) was released on Marcelus label Singular Recordsu in July 2017. In May 2018. his next EP is released on Patrik Skoog`s Discrete Data records. In Feb 2020 he published his 3rd, and debut Vakat album ''Dah LP'' on Subsist records.

This various artist compilation by Schimmer Records will be available for free on Bandcamp on the 25th of December. The main idea behind this compilation was to give our artists the freedom to create something outside of their usual habits of production and sound. Something they normally wouldnt produce. Think outside the box and create something new. With this idea the Schimmer resident artists created something special and new, maybe nothing functional to play in a set, but something to listen to closely. This ten track album is an intern project in which everything was allowed - from ambient to breakbeat and jungle 
- it opened up doors of creativity and freedom in our production.
