Alongside a growing list of musical talent, VOITAX dedicate their visual output, with each 10-record series to a new visual artist. The current series has given a platform to Matthieu Wernert, an abstract painter from Strasbourg. With the VOI 030 this series is closed by no one less than Fides Records owner Z.I.P.P.O also known as Giuseppe Maffei. Recognized as an ambitious creator and active DJ within the electronic music world, he has already conquered some of the most sought-after DJ booths in Europe. As a careful selector he aims to avoid a reduced focus on the classical techno scheme, while adding his personal explorations within the intersection of Detroit House, Jazz, Funk, and Disco. With his second moniker 3KZ, a project that has been a strong influence on the sound direction of his own label Fides Record, Maffei is traversing somewhere in the realms of Sci-Fi, and electro-tinged Techno of the highest order.


With the VOI 030—»Sense«, the project Z.I.P.P.O enters a new sphere within its own sound direction. This release is characterized by IDM texture work, glitchy percussion and drum patterns, that find their room within deep atmospheric spaces and carefully placed delay programming. Certainly, recognizable is Maffei’s eclectic taste for more complex electronic bits, which are also known from his more demanding DJ sets. »Sense« brings together different factettes of his nicely equipped studio arrangement, as you get to hear a range of grainy saturated hardware synthesis to innovative and more complex sound design. The sound of this record combines a bit of every- thing while keeping its very own character. If you like to give it a name, then it might feel like Aphex Twin meets Doppler Effekt and Pan Sonic.


His side project as a sound designer for movies, short clips, and cinema, allows him to combine a broader vision on electronic sound- scapes. Rich in texture, as well as beautifully crafted drum and percussion design, make this EP a special journey. We are delighted to welcome Z.I.P.P.O within the rows of VOITAX with this new personal project.

"Apparatus“ is Rizla Ops’ debut EP on Voitax, a deeply personal creation born swiftly amidst the heartbreak of losing a close friend, Ollie Mazgaj. Crafted during a period of introspection, the EP became an anchor, the only thing that felt right in a world detached from the club and daily routine. 

Sonically diverse, "Apparatus“ explores techno, drill, amapiano, grime, and garage, maintaining a common thread of dissonance, functionality, and groove. The title track, „Apparatus, stands out as an outlier in Rizla Ops’ discography, featuring big melodic moments that capture the raw emotions of the artist at that particular time. Despite his usual preference for conveying ideas through rhythm and sound design, this EP marks a turning point, hinting at future experiments with melody and harmony. 

"Apparatus“ is more than a collection of tracks; it’s a sonic journey through genres, emotions, and personal growth—a testament to Rizla Ops’ dedication to pushing boundaries and creating immersive, thought-provoking electronic music.

"VSK is honoured to start the journey of his new imprint with a selection of great artists. “Equilibrio volume 1” is a presentation of the different visions of techno the label wants to focus on. Modernity, deepness and hypnotism, sound design and complex textures will be the key elements of the label.
The first track is a collaboration between VSK himself and the Polish producer Michal Jablonski. X&Y is a combination of Epic drones, glitchy fx and a metallic fm synth line. Speed and fast modulation are the main ingredients for the development of an obsessive groove.
Malaria by the Spanish artist Kwartz, is an hypnotic dance between extreme ranges of frequency ; white noise and rising screams are wonderfully mixed together with an aggressive broken-subbeat.
The surgical touch of Ansome brings with “Operational Amplifier” a really complex sound design and fierce rhythmic programming, while a distorted roar
beats hauntingly the time.
The last cut, Shori by the italian artist Flaminia, is an obscure and elegant march. Cinematic and ethereal strings come together with an aggressive raw beat , providing an excellent techno experience."

Employing a toolkit of cutting-edge DSP, Swarm Intelligence reimagines classic rave frameworks for dancefloors of the future. »Ultraware« traces a path through electro, big beat, jungle and acid – optimising and reconstructing until only fragmented traces remain.
Following up from his widely acclaimed »Against the Dying Light« album, this EP marks a new shift in the ever-evolving Swarm Intelligence sound. A relentless explorer of audio technology, here he utilizes spectral processing alongside convolution and granular synthesis to craft a gritty sonic repository for the four tracks.
Even in moments when the sequences disintegrate into chaos before reassembling into a coherent form, there is never a feeling that Swarm Intelligence is not in full control – this is an artist who thrives on complexity.
Referencing the cyborg-fetishising electro of the early 90s, »Rise of the Machines« opens the EP. Stark and booming, its slick bassline dominates the mix with club-shaking heft. Having escalated to peak intensity, the track abruptly cuts to a simulated scratch routine before slamming back in with gigawatts of pure sonic power.
Up next is »Holographic«, a trippy hybrid of abstract techno and big beat. Shifting textures whirr around a thundering kick drum pattern and off-kilter snare hits, as the track pummels its way towards a ghostly breakdown.
Over on the B-side is »Cybernetic«. An evolved jungle cut, its rolling bassline and snare fills propel the track through clouds of grainy melodies. Swarm Intelligence’s modular synth features heavily as the track dissolves into a crunchy lo-fi drum solo before serving up a series of cine- matic impacts in its final moments.
»Our Wounds Are Opposite« is the last track. Hyper-produced, disjointed beats cut through forlorn pads and glitchy synths to create this 3D-printed ballad. Juxtaposing the reverberating melodies, its laser zaps and over-driven snare mark the track’s passage with absolute precision.
