After the sack of Athens by the conqueror Xerxes and his army, around 370 Greek triremes regrouped for one final attempt at halting the invasion force. Against the numerically superior 800 ship armada, the Greeks were triumphant at the straits of Salamis, saving Hellenic culture from the brink of potential annihilation.
