This song's written only....
for the lonely and cold,
who've spent each holiday
with nobody to hold....
Just like Christmas trees left
on the curb every year,
stripped of all that was pretty,
'cept some icicle tears..

It's a sad little ditty,
but I hope it will show,
There are folks who will love you,
cause they've known what you know.

Loneliness is so cruel, but it's just temporary,
it's the emptiness felt that is so much more scary,
That deep longing denied to have love by your side,
while the world celebrates their most happy yuletide.

It's that bright Christams morn
when you lift up your head,
to find that you're facing
a half empty bed,
it's that tree with no presents
from those you once loved so,
it's T.V. Christmas dinners,
cause you've no place to go.....

Loneliness is so hard, but it passes away.
just like Christmas, it's fleeting, it's not here to stay,
soon you'll face a new year, full of hope and good cheer,
and perhaps love will wander your way.

If I could be Santa, I'd find ways to bring,
a wish list from someone whose been suffering,
to another whose lonely and reads every line,
then by mid-February they'd both share Valentines.

Love is life's greatest gift, but it has to be shared,
put a smile on your lips, and then go forth prepared,
to face this new year, making lots of new friends
then perhaps by next Christmas, love will come round again.

There are places where lonely folks gather to be
companions to others who are also lonely,
but you have to get out and make your feelings known.
cause your only alternative is to be left alone.

What Planet Are We On Tonight

My house was struck by lightning this past week and so I am without my recording studio as well as many other household electrical devices. We are fine but I will be down for a week or more until electrical breaks are repaired and devices that blew out are replaced or I buy new ones.


The Hollow-Days Of Addiction.
(A Christmas message for all )

Christmas has come back again
For the third year in a row
And we haven't seen 
our precious son
Ever since he had to go
To jail then off to rehab
Then violating 
two probation's
the court ordered no contact
So we've had no conversations
Cause he'd abused 
his Mom so much
Leaving her soul terrified
and came after me so angrily
Every time that he got high
we both tried in 
every way we could
But then we had to say goodbye....


Christmas on drugs and alcohol 
Was never a good mix
Hanukkah plus cruel addictions
Just brings candle sadly lit
Santa Claus and faith in God
Are not enough to bring a fix
Only he can save himself
No one else can heal his needs
That have made both our hearts bleed
while he spends his hollow days
Struggling to find ways to succeed.


He'll spend another Christmas
In sober living all alone
Far away from both his parents
Knowing that he can't come home
And it cuts us deeply to the bone
Cause our tough love is no fun
But drugs and alcohol have stolen
Our most precious son
Until he proves that he is cured
and his addictions are all done.

So if you too are like our son
Suffering the same afflictions
I hope this poem moves you to flee
Back to the true life 
you've been missing
Because those who 
love you can't survive
Living with the endless friction
Of your lies and thefts 
And thier hopes left swept
Underneath your opposition
Your loved ones all must separate
themselves from your positions
Of your loving highs even as they cry
Over your tragic conditions
Leaving you alone 
while they sit at home
Praying for you and each one wishing
That you will give all that you've lost
Some serious recognition
Before you end up lying 
Under a marble inscription
that leaves them all 
Without your love
Another victim of addiction
so many others just like you 
Have faced Death's Benedictions....
