In what colors 
does love slink off in... 
a most unfashionable way
are they deep blues that 
finger-paint your 
heart with deep despair
does love’s exit hold 
some yellow because 
you refused to even 
try to make it stay. 
one must never fear
a dying love 
one must work 
desperately to put the 
pink back in its cheeks
kissing all of its wounds
in hopes for a healing.
mouth to mouth 
resuscitation tenderly 
applied has been 
known to work +
if he or she permits it 

sSometimes it leaves 
you green with envy
because it ran off
with another love
to paint the town red
as red as your face 
when you realize 
that it just up and 
left you bereft...bereft 

Love that is failing
turns a very pale flesh
when it is no longer fresh
your lips are left pressed
into tight lines
that frame the 
white canvas
emptied of you 
that it left behind. 

And as love escapes 
it turns pitch black
miming your own nights 
alone in the ebony shadows
staring back at all 
the much more 
colorful memories 
it once shared.

Life without love is colorless
and always leads to the question??

What color is hate?
purple like a bruise
left festering in your soul,
scarlet like a blood spill
when angst turns love 
into scattered corpses
silver like a bullet or knife
entering the heart 
to replace and remove forever 
any trace of love.
far more often it is 
the gray of apathy
because no one cares 
to be hated
to be slated as an outcast

Hate might someday be
revealed in a vast 
orange mushroom
eliminating all of love’s color
under a dictator’s desire
to lay the world to waste

Dictators are the colors
of mausoleums, 
because they seek 
to fill them 

Sometimes only the 
colors of khaki
can save loves’s
cruel extinctions….
and so loved 
ones are sent
in navy blues and 
camouflaged tans
and military greens to 
snuff the lives out 
of all of those who 
don’t love them.
but they too have loved ones
who have lost them
to the smoke colored
stench of war.

And it then due to hate
that love is the color
if many tears falling
which transparently
evaporate over the blush
of flesh colored cheeks
leaving only wet trails of
memories behind....................

We must love the world,
We must Love our fellowmen,
or someday the wprld will be
an empty, lifeless rock,,,,,,
holding nothing but ashes
forever............................"

Feverently denying taught religion, even though it brings you comfort. Extolling Darwinian evolution, whilst feeling comforted by phones, Fitbits and myriads of bio technologies.

Consciously avoiding the group photograph's, then pondering where you are when you see the resulting masterpiece. Ever wondering which action makes you more human.

comprehending inhumane, but struggling to grasp human.

Sometimes the human touch isn't enough.

My children seek blankets or cuddly toys to comfort them. When I seek comfort/familiarity or reassurance, music offers me warmth, either listening to, or recording.

The Hollow-Days Of Addiction.
(A Christmas message for all )

Christmas has come back again
For the third year in a row
And we haven't seen 
our precious son
Ever since he had to go
To jail then off to rehab
Then violating 
two probation's
the court ordered no contact
So we've had no conversations
Cause he'd abused 
his Mom so much
Leaving her soul terrified
and came after me so angrily
Every time that he got high
we both tried in 
every way we could
But then we had to say goodbye....


Christmas on drugs and alcohol 
Was never a good mix
Hanukkah plus cruel addictions
Just brings candle sadly lit
Santa Claus and faith in God
Are not enough to bring a fix
Only he can save himself
No one else can heal his needs
That have made both our hearts bleed
while he spends his hollow days
Struggling to find ways to succeed.


He'll spend another Christmas
In sober living all alone
Far away from both his parents
Knowing that he can't come home
And it cuts us deeply to the bone
Cause our tough love is no fun
But drugs and alcohol have stolen
Our most precious son
Until he proves that he is cured
and his addictions are all done.

So if you too are like our son
Suffering the same afflictions
I hope this poem moves you to flee
Back to the true life 
you've been missing
Because those who 
love you can't survive
Living with the endless friction
Of your lies and thefts 
And thier hopes left swept
Underneath your opposition
Your loved ones all must separate
themselves from your positions
Of your loving highs even as they cry
Over your tragic conditions
Leaving you alone 
while they sit at home
Praying for you and each one wishing
That you will give all that you've lost
Some serious recognition
Before you end up lying 
Under a marble inscription
that leaves them all 
Without your love
Another victim of addiction
so many others just like you 
Have faced Death's Benedictions....
