[DREF033] Deepbass & Ness - Outer Limits EP

The Outer Limits EP sees the return of two long time label friends and contributors, the Scottish Deepbass and the Italian Ness. Despite the fact that both of them are prolific enough solo acts as it is, once in a while they combine forces and deliver a co-produced masterpiece, to which Outer Limits is no exception.

However, make no mistake: the fact they have found their signature sound, does not mean they aren’t constantly reinventing themselves. For this occasion, the two have made sporadical use of euphorical synth sounds, even gently alluding to trance at some point. Apart from that, they have adequately built their ever-evolving soundscapes upon subtly processed percussion.

A welcome addition to the two original tracks presents itself in the form of the talented producer Shlømo. The Frenchman has given his version of Outer Limits a powerful breakbeat foundation, making this EP into more of what it already was: a match made in heaven.

Tale of a Sacred Dance Podcast #43 una entrega más de un artista local, nos preparamos para una sesión de techno íntimo para este capítulo:

Asmodeo es un artista de nuestra ciudad Bogotá, dj y producto, que ha dedicado su carrera a la producción de techno, como nos gusta con raíces hipnóticas, mentales con fuerte influencia en el ambient y el industrial. 

Tras varios años trabajando en el género ha fichado en sellos de todo el mundo como Black Line Recordings de Francia, Insane Industry de Italia, Kusiya Records de Argentina, entre otros.

Aprovecho la crisis sanitaria de los pasados años para juntarse a varios artistas en donde desarrolló podcasts con una de sus marcas llamada Parallel, logrando la participación de artistas de varios subgéneros de la música electrónica, abriendo la posibilidad a artistas emergentes.

En 2023, decide formar y fundar su propio sello discográfico llamado Hypnotism Records, con el cual espera dar espacio a todos los artistas que reúnan el carácter y sonido que caracteriza al subgénero que ama y le gusta producir, siendo Hipnótico y ambient combinados. en un solo, enfocado a la pista de baile, para lograr un estilo "Loop" y "Experimental" para que tanto el público como el Dj puedan disfrutarlo.

Asmodeo ~ Tale of a Sacred Dance: Chapter 43

For The Nursery’s 6th instalment, meet Vertical Spectrum. An anonymous entity who is relatively new to the scene, his first release being a little over a year old. Nevertheless, in the meantime Vertical Spectrum has released numerous high quality EP’s, ranging from deep and droning tracks to banging up-tempo stuff and everything in between.

The Magnitude EP is no exception to his high standard. It leans towards the slightly slower and subtle variants of techno, though without compromising in terms of dance floor energy. The tracks distinct themselves by means of beautifully processed percussion, indiscernible background noise and prudent melodies. 

The two label heads of Dynamic Reflection, Abstract Division, have taken the remix duties for their account. Their contribution is a dreamy interpretation of Alpha Magnitude, making it the perfect addition to the EP.

With The Magnitude EP, Vertical Spectrum has proven once more to be as promising as he is mysterious, leaving no doubt that there’s much to be expected from him in the future.

For the second and last EP of Contemporary Spaces remixes, Dynamic Reflection welcomes yet another batch of talented producers to the label. Just like the first remix EP, it is a mix between household names, and up and comers.  
 
First off, it’s Perc’s interpretation of Glide. The UK-based artist, who is known for his use of distortion and aggressiveness, takes it down a notch on this occasion. He has made Glide into a echoing and glitchy track that doesn’t reach its energy peak until the last couple of
minutes. Matrixxman takes over with his Biohazard mix of Future Existence, which contains a tensive synth, confined by a filter that gradually opens,and than closes again, retaining your attention at all times.  
 
On the B-side, SHDW and Obscure Shape reshaped The Hunt to provide the first outright dance floor track of the EP. With its thumping kick and epic pads around the breaks, it’s bound to win crowds over in the club. Dutch talent Ben Buitendijk also remixed Future Existence, in his own distinctive, hypnotic style. A deep, though energetic track with a verymature sound. 
 
Lastly, as a digital bonus, Matrixxman remixed Immersion as well. The subby kick, old school rides and uplifting lead, make it into one of those secret weapons, waiting to be used on the night’s most worked-up moments.

The eighth instalment of The Nursery series sees the return of Moving Thoughts, a talented duo from Holland, for their first solo EP with Dynamic Reflection. Four powerful, varied tracks with a bit of a nod to Detroit.

‘Small from above’ starts off with a bright vibe and inventive percussion patterns, making it into a warm and cosy welcome. The second track, ‘33TG’, puts a quick end to that cosiness: it’s raw straight from the beginning. A mean synth builds up for a couple of minutes before alternating with another synth, only this time a more euphoric one. 

‘Voyager’, the third track, is undoubtedly this EP’s dance floor banger. Its loopy lead sound has a bit of a trippy minimal vibe to it, but with just enough diversity to retain attention throughout. Lastly, ‘The people from Mars don’t want us there’ provides the perfect outro of the EP with its modular action and futuristic appearance. 

Although these tracks are all fairly different from each other, they are all produced in the same effective and delicate style. They make for an interesting EP, reason enough to follow these two promising artists’ every move from now on.

The Nursery’s 9th release marks the return of Viels, a young up and comer who already contributed memorably on TN001, and it’s good to have him back. The Italian born producer easily outdoes himself with this versatile solo EP called ‘Sinua’.

The EP gently starts of with peaceful pads accompanied by soothing sweeps before effortlessly drifting over into the dreamy dance floor vibes of title track Sinua. But by the time the second half of the tracks dawn, all the cosiness and subtlety starts making place for profound reign. Hypnotising synths are slowly evolving while in the meantime, the powerful presence of old school drum machines provides enough tension. 

Versatility really is the first and most appropriate word that comes to mind when taking this trip across a broad spectrum of electronic music, and moreover a word that does Viels the honour he deserves for exploring and capturing that spectrum.

Asmodeo is a DJ producer who has dedicated his career to techno production, especially subgenres such as Hypnotic, mental, ambient and industrial. Asmodeo has been working in these genres for several years, managing to sign with labels from various countries around the world, among which are: Black Line Recordings (France), Insane Industry (Italy), Kusiya Records (Argentina)... Thanks to this, he has managed to share releases with various artists of multiple nationalities.

Asmodeo while the world was going through the COVID 19 health contingency and together with various artists, he developed podcasts with one of his brands called Parallel, getting participation from artists from various subgenres of electronic music, opening the possibility for emerging artists. Within the podcasts you can listen to the talent of artists such as Aske (Brazil), Artyem (Colombia), MNDC (Germany), Mhauro (Argentina)... during the health contingency he had to take a break with this project to work and focus it on something more stable and specific.

In 2023, he decides to form and found his own record label called Hypnotism Records, with which he hopes to give space to all the artists who meet the character and sound that characterizes the subgenre that he loves and likes to produce, being Hypnotic and ambient combined. in one single, focusing on the dance floor, to achieve a "Loop" and "Experimental" style so that both the public and the DJ can enjoy it.

As Dj Asmodeo he has participated in several podcasts for various brands around the world such as: BlackSpot (Chile), Techno Possession (Brazil), Black Line Recordings (France)... in which he has shown the technique and music selection that he likes to use so much, playing music from different record labels such as: Árido Records (Chile), Dynamic Reflection (Holland), Illegal Alien Records (Mexico) among others.

Parallel

Over the years worked on the development of spaces for various artists, both emerging and with a career, creating a series of podcasts of multiple subgenres of electronic music such as: Tech house, techno, industrial... within which he had participations from artists such as Aske, Mhauro, MNDC, Vilko, Artyem, LM0101... between 2020 and 2021 the podcast series had 21 episodes with visuals on the YouTube platform.

Now Parallel is undergoing a remodeling within which it is projected to continue with the most specialized podcast series in two subgenres, but in this new stage of the series it seeks to dedicate its efforts to the sound quality of these, rather than the focus visual it came with.
As part of the revamp, Parallel is creating a music space as a label focusing like the podcast on two subgenres, with the goal of supporting both emerging talent and talented artists who already have a track record.

The efforts we make to maintain a space for both emerging artists and those who already have a career will always be dedicated to collective development within the knowledge that as a community we have and can provide, this not only for artists who place their trust in us, but also for the public who in the end always motivates us to continue with the love and support they give to the entire community, scene and electronic family.

Each person who supports us beyond being a follower or fan of the work we develop, becomes part of our family and as part of it we always listen, receive and project the recommendations and requests that they give us so that the family continues to grow. getting stronger and better.
