Some spare time to myself on Friday just gone meant it was time to go on the decks and lose myself in Atmospheric Beats.    So much good music out there at the  moment whether it's re-mastered classics or undiscovered tracks or new music that I needed to get into a set that I ended up spinning for almost  3 hours.   

Mixed on 2 x Technics 1210 MK7 turntables with Numark M4 Mixer.

Similar to Daniel’s Late Nights At Speed mix, as far as I know, the full-length version of his Forgotten Worlds set hasn’t been online in around five years.

Here, Daniel once again fixes his gaze firmly on the past, blending a fine selection of 93-96 jungle.

Covering an eclectic array of tracks, Forgotten Worlds captures the exhilarating sound of the 90s. Confirming to this day, there are still new tracks to discover (or rediscover), and plenty of unheard dubs still to draw.

Let's meet our DJ for Episode 679, Madcap:

Madcap (Elliot Payne) began DJing in the early ’90s, inspired by a musical family and his time working at Buzz Records in High Wycombe where he met DJ Pulse.

Early gigs across the UK, including The Sanctuary, Milton Keynes, helped build his reputation, followed by national attention after winning the Movement/Technics DJ Competition at The End in 2002.

A long-standing DJ with residencies in Oxford, London, Aylesbury & Birmingham, Madcap has played across major UK cities and internationally in L.A, San Francisco, Florida, Baltimore, Amsterdam, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania, Prague & Estonia. Invited to Fabric’s “Bukem In Session” and has been featured on BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, 6 Music, Rinse FM, Kool FM, Kiss FM, Mi-Soul Radio and more.

Since 2006 he has released music on many leading labels including Good Looking Records, Metalheadz, Mac II, Fokuz, Over/Shadow, Liquid V, C.I.A, Dispatch, Renegade Recordings, Soul Deep, Creative Wax & Smooth N Groove. His remix work includes classics Nookie/Cloud 9, Tom & Jerry, DJ Monita, Kaotic Chemistry, Foul Play, Hyper-On Experience, Seba, Rogue Unit, FBD Project and more.

Pulse & Madcap re-launched Creative Wax in 2013 and continue to release new music, reissues, merchandise and appearing at events such as The Run Out, Rave Story & Black Gold. Recent studio collaborations include Digital, Myth, Soul Structure & FBD Project, with further releases forthcoming on Creative Wax, Myriad Recordings, Soul Deep, Smooth N Groove & AKO Beatz.


He also celebrates over ten years of The Creative Wax Show on Future Sounds Radio and holds a regular slot on Mi-Soul Radio with The Official DnB Show every other Friday alongside Donovan ‘Badboy Smith & Jumpin’ Jack Frost.
