Saya sering terbangun malam karena suara-suara dari pepohonan yang tertiup angin di belakang kamar saya. Saat itu saya masih tinggal di pemukiman dosen sebagai anak kost di Bogor. Rumah yang saya tinggali ini berada di paling pojok pemukiman dan terdapat banyak pohon besar di belakang rumah.
Suatu malam, pukul 01:30 saya terbangun dari tidur. Malam itu saya mendengar suara-suara halus berupa nyanyian di antara suara gemuruh pepohonan yang tertiup angin dan gonggongan anjing hutan. Saya berusaha keras untuk mendengarkan lebih detil dan berkeinginan untuk menangkap suara nyanyian itu. Tapi sesekali suara itu datang dan hilang lagi. Malam berikutnya saya berusaha mengingat nyanyian yang terdengar malam kemarin. Kemudian saya merekamnya dalam lagu "Gone" ini dan ditambahkan beberapa bait lirik yang saya karang sendiri. -fanfan-
