Born in Chicago, cook county Illinois. Music has always played a big part in Petey Chimney's life. He was exposed to multiple genres and artists in music (Michael Jackson, Tupac, Minnie Ripperton, LL Cool J, The Stylistics, & Earth, Wind & Fire, etc….) He was introduced to James Brown from his uncle, house music around his cousins in Chicago, and alternative/pop music by his mother. By the age of eleven, he was fully enveloped by the music.
    In high school, he developed a very strong interest in English, which led to writing poetry and learning the structure of songwriting. He released his first public made album as a mix tape. Petey Chimney Presents...."I am presenting "the ego's" and perception of Petey Chimney's life". "This is a compilation of the songs I made from 2011-present. P.C. Presents are snippets of full songs he's completed; he, dj'd, or remixed."I think hip-hop/rap music has gotten stale and desperately needs to be refreshed" he says after being asked what does he think about the state of music now.
