One For Sorrow were a hard rock band from Co. Wexford, Ireland. They formed in 2003 when guitarist John Harpur, drummer Paudie Farrell and singer Mick O' Connor, met guitarist James Murphy - ('Byrdz') (pronounced 'Birds') and bass player Graham O' Connor.  - (Replacing previous bass player John Paul Walsh.) ('Spud') 

The five began rehearsing Harpur's songs at their practice space. After completion, came gigs in the local area, and then some recording at Aer Studios Gorey, Co. Wexford, then some recording at a Factory in Dublin that was converted into a studio. An old one of Byrdz's tracks 'Jump' recorded in a garage in an estate in Wexford town was then finally added into the mix. A ten track CD was created.

The band played more gigs including shows in Harrisburg, Philadelphia, USA which were well received. One final set of Wexford gigs followed before the band called it a day in 2009.                                                                                Thank you for listening! (Best experienced through earphones) a Stolen Glow are an outfit from Co. Wexford, Ireland. The group consists of James Murphy - 'Byrdz' [pronounced 'Birds'] (E.S.S. & One For Sorrow), and Alan Davis (E.S.S.) As a studio band the pair worked on a Stolen Glow for over ten years, with James, carefully crafting a blend of home-made rock music, and Alan, carefully focusing on some music, but then cutting his teeth on video animation. Two E.P.'s emerged 2016's 'Just Far Enough Away' and 2019's 'Rough Mixes'. The outfit's  album 'Ten Track Recorder' saw the light of day in 2020, and then the mainly (drop D based guitar tuned) 12 track album '11 Items' was released in the year 2022. (Both of these albums can be found on this page.) We are two old friends from KY. Posting songs we recorded many years ago on Tascam cassette recorders...and starting to get together to write and record again on a Tasccam DP24 when our dad schedules allow...hopefully we'll have some new ones to post soon.
