Next on tentacular, we’re thrilled to host a mix from the multi-faceted Lucie Stepankova, known as Avsluta (@avsluta): a London-based sound artist, DJ, and curator. With a focus on the liminal spaces between ambient and dance music, Avsluta creates evocative experiences that invite deep, active listening and emotional connection.

Lucie is the force behind @introspective_electronics, a platform dedicated to exploring ambient-infused sounds through regular radio shows, podcasts, and curated live events. Her collaborative projects include co-running Sonic Garden—an experimental ambient and downtempo event series in partnership with AMOENUS—and co-curating @terra-obscura-london alongside DJ/producer Alicia, a bi-monthly exploration of ambient-tinged UK bass and progressive club sounds.

Through her live performances, Lucie improvises with a mix of objects, field recordings, electronics, and digital processing, crafting speculative soundscapes that embody the essence of nature and emotion. Her DJ sets are equally diverse, seamlessly flowing between ambient, downtempo, UK bass, and off-kilter deep techno, blending atmospheres that resonate both physically and soulfully.

The internet gave us wild ways to connect, but it still can’t beat the real thing - meeting people in real life. A few months ago, we found ourselves in our beloved Barn deep in the Catskills, surrounded by trees, friends, and a four-day blur of heavy tunes and strange magic. That’s where we met Verena, aka Ena B. We connected through mutual friends and a shared pull toward deeper, dubbier, stranger sounds, and just like that, a new link was made.

Her “Delayed with…” mix is a slow-burner in the best way. It moves with intention, breaky, heady, and atmospheric, full of space and subtle pressure. There’s a patience to her selections, a confidence in the flow. Ena B may be new to the fold, but she speaks the language fluently. Expect more transmissions soon.

Following https://soundcloud.com/mikkel-rev's debut album on the label in 2023, ‘The Art Of Levitation’, the Norwegian artist returns with Journey Beyond, a selection of tracks demonstrating his innate ability to conjure the most atmospheric trance music, irrespective of BPM.

Journey Beyond was created from an extensive set of tracks sent to the label that were initially sequenced as two shorter EPs. With the first offering a slower 80bpm trance style, and the second EP, a classic ~130bpm trance style. However, over time, with tracks swapping in and out, ASIP had the idea to create a mixed version, progressing through the tracks and increasing bpm's, showcasing Mikkel’s ability in bridging euphoric worlds - and a style that is often reserved for Mikkel’s live performances amongst the forest raves held as part of the Ute Collective in Norway.

Classic trance and the art of a DJ mix have been influential to ASIP since the label’s inception, making this release and the process of creating it a true reflection of how Mikkel and the label come together to define the end output.

He continues to build upon his reputation as a prolific producer and masterful DJ with releases spanning all manner of outlets coupled with performances around the world.  For Monument he has prepared an intricate dubby trip sure to envelope the listener with its building energy and floating atmospheres.

Influenced by sounds such as bebop or progressive psychedelic rock and focused on experimental and ambient music rather than clubbing in its beginnings, Pharma later delved into deep and immersive sound, creating an amalgam that has been interconnected over time to finally take shape in both listening and clubbing sets with a specific musical discourse in each context, connected to dub, trippy sounds and ambient landscapes, where the density between lights and shadows promotes mental activity that prevails over physical activity.

The mix is a testament to his expansive musical knowledge and his ability to connect seemingly disparate genres into a cohesive, flowing narrative.

In his own words: "The mix was recorded in my studio in Berlin. Beginning with slower Dub Techno, it slips into the early, minimalist 85/170 Drum-and-Bass era, showcasing plenty of those formative highlights before closing with authentic Amen Breaks combining with a sound design that actually anticipates the vibe of some of today’s darker techno productions."
